That afternoon we began to harvest the pumpkins that the earth in our patio wanted to give us. We were happy because, even though it hadn't rained much, we would have pumpkins to make sweets and boiled, with a little garlic fried in oil and a squeeze of lemon. Tremendous banquet!, we thought.
But soon Pelusa appeared, a kitten who, like most of our cats, loves pumpkin. It doesn't matter if pumpkin is raw or cooked, Fluff loves it either way. Pelusa called her sister Curiara, perhaps because she sensed that she would need help if she wanted to steal any pumpkins from us.
We wanted to take some photos of our "great harvest" to keep as souvenirs. And you see, Curiara was trying to distract us while Pelusa was planning his big robbery.
Caught red-handed, she had no choice but to pose for the photo, as if she was only interested in becoming an international model. Pelusa is a great teacher of lies.
And at night... when she thought no one was watching her, the little cat attacked the first pumpkin. She had the patience to wait for us to open it with a knife, because she must have understood that her little fangs wouldn't last that long.
And since no thief is perfect, Pelusa repeated his "big heist" a week later, only this time it wasn't the pumpkins...
