Hello again, photography and travel enthusiasts! I want to conclude our Barcelona trip here with the remaining photos. These are a bit random leftovers that include portraits of my friends I made at various spots. I was there in April, almost two months ago, so I dragged the posting a bit, but I did make plenty of interesting material. :)
Friends, photographers themselves, were comfortable and happy being in front of the camera so it was easy and fun to include them in occasional compositions. As a street photographer you often rely on luck - that things will come together and the perfect subject will come in at a perfect timing. When that doesn't happen, having a model is a good way to make your vision comes to life.
The photos are from different locations - narrow streets of Gothic quarter, Triumphal arch, the main La Rambla street and more. As for the techniques I used, I normally incorporate sub-framing (putting subject inside something looks like a frame, like an arch, window, lines of the fence...), I also make sure there is clear contrast with the subject and that the light is not too harsh.
I really love some of the shots, like the lady holding her dog, cycling couple holding hands or the one of my two friends sharing a smiling look in the passage. All in all, it was a fantastic trip and I'm hoping to revisit the city some day. Thanks for following along!
You perfectly capture the feeling of Barcelona's streets. The colors are vibrant and positive. But... I'm not sure if I should be scared of the woman in black or if it's just too hot there? ;))
