SHAG
Josh Agle, also known as Shag (put together the last two letters of his first name and the first two of his last name and bingo!), is a Californian artist whose work focuses on themes we love: tikis, martinis, parties, hot rod, skeletons and all of it in settings that evoke the architecture and interiors of 1950s California. Following his father's advice, young Josh began studying economics, but along the way he realized that he couldn't He wanted to work as an accountant, so he changed course and started working as a mercenary illustrator and designer, which is something to eat. And in the mid-'90s, he who knows where, he met Otto von Stroheim, editor of Tiki News at a luau that helped Shag's career as a real artist. Otto put on the first Shag exhibition at the Cacao Coffee House in Santa Monica
