Hello, readers of BDCommunity. I hope you all are doing well today.
Today, I will share a little trip I had yesterday with a person whom I met a few weeks back. This was in an area behind Bashundhara Residential named Purbachal, a region with endless greenery and dynamic culture where the traditional fun activities are substituted from human-powered to automated.
I have been asking this lady for a few days if she would be free to show me part of this area since it was close to her home and I've never been here before alone. So, she gave me a detailed instruction on where to go and wait for an auto and the fares.
The first stop was near Rupayan Tower. I had to cross the road with the over-bridge and wait for an auto. I got this picture, not of the road because the cloud formation was too heavenly to let it slide by.
On my way to Purbachal, I snapped this one. The lone apartments in an area where greenery was dominant and the opportunity of rain under heavy cumulonimbus clouds. This looked menacing as it had both the side of light and darkness.
After reaching my first stop, I was to take another auto to Moizz Uddin Chattor. That is where I finally met her, her little sister, and her nephew who was older than her, don't ask me how...
This was the first place she brought me to. The ferry. Loads of boats took dozens of people and roamed the free waters; around the small island right in front. The weather was cool and I loved it, I don't like warm weather since I sweat a lot, disliking warm weather in a tropical country is like hating ice in Antarctica... it sucks.
From there, we went to the net location near Eco Park Purbachal, and on our way, we witnessed a sad event. It was the aftermath of an accident, the bits and pieces of fallen on the ground was shattered pieces of human bone, and the liquid there was human blood. For obvious reasons, I did not go closer to it and stuck with her.
I asked the locals about it. They told me that it was between a car and a motorbike.
That was the broken part of their motorbike. It was kept in the middle of the road, probably for the authorities to collect it later.
The first pic I clicked after we walked around the market after browsing some of what the shops had, was more of a flea market with a little more choice. And, that is when I realized, I should've worn blue. We sat on the railings of the bridge so it was safe. Moreover, the clouds behind us were getting darker. It had already rained but sparsely, twice.
I showed her a pic of my friends and me here 3 years ago. There were no such boats then. And, I did ask my friends if any of them remembered how to get there. We all forgot how to get there... she looked at the pic, used her intuition, and brought me near the river on the right side of the pic.
That is when I clicked this masterpiece. This is where all the clouds were blown away from the strong winds and what was left was a cluster of heavy clouds slowly clearing a path for the divine rays to flood the plain.
The path to the river was a little long. We had to go around a small resort and the road was not a fully constructed one. This is also where she and her sisters committed to taking a plethora of pictures under the sun. This is where I remembered the famous song written by Rabindranath Tagore, "Ekla Cholo Re".
Another explosion of greenery here. No boats would come this way though, I presume that the officials will do something about it to be able to monetize this area.
And sure enough, this was the place. Except that it was on the other side, meaning it was on the left side of the bridge. But, the winds were cool and strong and the environment was somewhat rich with trash... it was sad to see this sight. Tourist attractions are usually filled with trash as it would seem.
As the day went dark, our spirits were still high, so we decided to hit the local carnival where they had a small-ish Ferris Wheel, a wave swinger, and an automated seesaw.
I couldn't take pics in the first 2 since they got me a bit dizzy and I didn't think I could handle a phone on me there.
I did manage to take a blurred image in mid-air as we hit around a 70-degree angle. Boy was it exhilarating. The best thing was that these rides were very cheap but my budget was getting low and also had to return home.
I did not ask her to dinner since it was getting late even for me and I bid them farewell. Just before leaving them, she gave me yet another detailed instruction on where to take the ride and the fares back home. I did follow them until I hit the highway of Purbachal. After waiting for over 30 minutes I learned that Bashundhara Guards does not allow Autos to pass by after sundown which was pretty absurd. I ended up getting a CNG after my Uber request timed out twice. It was a bit expensive but I did reach home safely at around 8 pm.
And that's how my journey ended.
Thank you for reading this far, see you legends on the next one!
Nice! 👍🏻☺🌷🌹🌹
