The pandemic has curtailed my traveling, so for my first series I will look back at some of the wonderful places I have had the good fortune of visiting. These pictures are from my trip to New Zealand in April 2018. This first Photograph is from Lake Wakatipu near Glenorchy on the south island. I took it just before embarking on a four day hike through the mountains called the Routeburn track.

This picture is on the second day of hiking in the mountains of Te Wai Pounamu (the Maori name for the south island). My wife and I had just ascended from the flats below and came across this beautiful vista.

After heading up the path for another couple of hours we head deeper into the mountains. It was fall in the southern hemisphere so there were not many people on the track, in fact we didn't see another person for the rest of the day.

That's all for now. I will post more in the future. I think three or so photographs at a time is appropriate (I took several thousand in NZ). My camera is nothing professional, but neither am I, it is small compact and great for travelling. Thanks for taking your time to check out my post. I'm new to Hive and I am not really sure how everything works, so any comments and/or advice are greatly appreciated.

Wonderful images! i didn't know trees were able to still alive even on water 😍 And those mountains with the water falling... Woaaaah
Thank you so much for sharing this images 🙌
Thank you for your kind comment. I don't know what trees they were exactly. Not mangrove trees for sure, it was very shallow there so maybe they had built up some tufts of dirt. That area of Aotearoa is just simply stunning. Close your eyes and point the camera and you'll get some post card shit every time.
Congratulations, your post has been added to Pinmapple! 🎉🥳🍍
