It's finally spring in Finland. Most of the snow has melted away and there have been multiple nights when the temperature hasn't gone below 0 degrees Celsius. So life is starting to look good.
I was starting my coal grill by using a charcoal chimney. I've always thought smoke is beautiful so I tried to take a few quick shots of the smoke while being outside.
My real goal was to get some photos of the bird I had seen entering the (now cleaned) birdhouse!
So I tried to get as close as I thought was appropriate and waited.
I heard some sound from the tree nearby and saw a bird there. It was a blue tit, carrying something in it's mouth. I knew it was carrying it in it's mouth as the leaves were moving as the bird turned it's head.
It was probably carrying materials to build the nest in the birdhouse!
So at least one of the birdhouses has a bird living there. A beautiful blue tit, hopefully building it's nest in the birdhouse with great success.
Then another thing I noticed was a butterfly. It was flying a bit oddly, but landed on the wall. When I zoomed on it with my camera, it looked pretty damaged. A ragged butterfly.
No idea what happened. No idea what could had happened to it. But I'm glad it was alive.
After a long winter, the spring is very very welcome here. Leaving the darkness and the cold behind, we have some amazing months ahead of us.
Be very prepared for some bird photos :)
Let the tits come!
I was planning on grilling this weekend, but have been too busy. I like the smoke from the coal chimney too :D
Have a great Easter.
It's a shame if you've been too busy, as I can tell you it feels amazing to grill and eat outside again! My clothes still smell like smoke but it was totally worth it.
But most likely there will be enough weekends for grilling as we're approaching summer. Hope you have a great Easter too :)
We grilled tonight, but there is no furniture to eat on yet - so we are in. =)
Good idea a grill for the weekend. That bird looks very curious.
Nice shots!
Thanks! And the bird was not only curious, but really fast. I wish the birds would fly slower.
I loved the photograph of the bird, one day i almost took a photography course, but i couldn't attend, hehehehe cheers!
Haha, thanks :) Hope you'll get to the course some day.
yes! thanks and cheers!

I love the pictures you take even though they are small animals, are you a photographer or did you take a course like derangedvisions? You both take such amazing pictures.
Now that you talk about the change of seasons, I give you a curious fact about where I live: Here there are only 2 seasons XD. I don't know much about it, but, maybe it's because where I live is an island, and we only have summer and spring D:
I hope you enjoyed the grill :)
