I have been a Bird and Macro Photographer from the last 5 years (almost) and have been developing my macro photography skills with Canon 90D (https://amzn.to/3qm6dKE) along with Canon 100mm Macro f/2.8 (https://amzn.to/3EWqnyK) which frankly is an amazing gear combination. But at the same time i use my mobile device as a macro camera and believe me you can take some really amazing pictures of insects with your mobile phone.
These days mobile cameras are packed with very powerful camera sensor and using the same you can polish your macro photography skills, rather than buying an extremely expensive gear which will cost you a fortune. For mobile Macro photography i am using an old Samsung A50 along with a small but very economical contraption by Adcom (https://amzn.to/3qtbobo)
Would like to tell everyone, if you want to start your macro photography journey "YOU DON'T NEED EXPENSIVE GEAR" because your mobile can be a good alternate to start with. Your mobile phone can help you gain experience and patience when it comes to Macro Photography.
How to use your Macro Clip on Mobile phone?
Now a days mobile phone are equipped with multiple cameras, out of which there is one primary camera with loads of megapixels. Now there are 4 steps you need to Take:
- Mount your macro clip lens on to your primary camera.
- Get real close to your subject.
- Lock AE/AF (on most phones long press will do the trick)
- Press the shutter
These steps will definitely help you to kick off your macro photography journey, but the most important thing to keep in mind while photographing small subjects is PATIENCE. Without patience you will most likely loose interest. So, don't get disappointed if while photographing an insect, it decides to run away.
Sharing some of the pictures i clicked using Samsung A50+adcom 12x/24x
