The eyes are enlarged when one sees a marvel, when there is something that surprises or is out of the ordinary. The heart rejoices with the light of life and many things give light.
I have walked this street many times, it is not a normal street, it is always in constant movement, firstly because it is one of the most important avenues of the city and with the most traffic, where almost all the bus lines circulate, but also one of the busiest streets for tourists. I am talking about Alameda Street.
Every time I pass through it, there is always something new, that reminds me of the taxi driver I met when I arrived, who took me from the centre to my first home, twelve kilometres from the centre. He told me: Malaga is always changing, it is never the same, the city of movement. And he was absolutely right.
But when the Christmas season arrives, this street is dressed up in its best clothes. When I saw these decorations I thought they were fantastic, and of all the years I have been here, I think it is the most beautiful Christmas design that has been put on this street.
There are six giant decorations in various shapes, a giant angel, a bell, a beautiful tree, a Christmas ball with a star inside and two giant stars with beautiful designs. All the decorations have a prepared space, either a hole or a seat, for people to take pictures with them.
In fact, on my walk through the decorations I had a hard time taking pictures, as many people were there for the same reason and also for the children to enjoy and take beautiful pictures. A great memory and a great view.
On the other hand, the streets decorated in this way sparkle and generate more attraction and in conjunction with the street full of trees with lights, the magic of this place is constantly floating in the air. When the night comes, the lights are turned on, the decorations come to life, making the place unique.
These decorations, depending on the angle from which you look at them, can even look different, light up differently and become more beautiful each time. Other years these streets are decorated with coloured trees, but this year's option seems to me to be very successful, it has attracted a lot of people and the harmony with the rest of the decorations is much better.
The designs are very beautiful and as I say the possibility of each one being a frame for a beautiful photo gives it a plus.
I saw the children sitting, waiting for their mother to take their picture, or playing nearby, or admiring the lights, and in their eyes shone that which only children have, that purity, that inner light and that feeling of surprise.
I thought of all the people, the adults above all, if for a moment they had that child, all together in unison. In that moment what the Christmas season awakens could last longer or all the time.
If that feeling lasted all year long, it would make the world different... I thought so. Feelings of peace, brotherly love, joy, tranquillity and much more, expanded thanks to the light.
