Look ma, no hands
I've fallen out of love a bit with photography recently. Usually by this time in the year I have at least fifteen to twenty "shoots" under my belt. This year I'm not even close to double figures. I've kind of lost my mojo. But, a couple of weeks back, my daughter and family invited me out to the former RAF Wickenby. It's only around eight miles from where I live, but I had never been before.
The pilot
What I didn't know is they hold different events on the old airfield, the old control tower is now a cafe and small museum, so it promised to be a nice day out. Especially as on that day The Wing Walk Company had flown in.
In the clouds
Whilst it made for an interesting spectacle to watch and photograph, I couldn't but think that the people actually wing walking must either be incredibly brave or unbelievably stupid. It wasn't cheap (almost £500 - around $640) for the participants but even if they had paid me there is no way I could have done that. So kudos to those that did.
Fly by
We couldn't have really picked a better day for it, the weather was lovely and the sky very blue behind the clouds, making this particular aircraft really stand out. A lovely day out, and I did almost get excited about shooting again. And, very strange for current tines, it was free to spectate.
About me:
I can mostly be found shooting models, aviation, motorsports and, when I can, wildlife. But I enjoy most aspects of photography. You can find more of my work on the links below.

Hey what a great catch, and you have to be very brave to make that flight.
@wilfredocav certainly braver than me, and thanks
thank you @visualshots and @wilfredocav much appreciated
I love aviation, always fascinated by it, having lived close to Farnborough and RAF Odiham for many years. I sure don’t fancy wing walking though! Wow!
Me too, and I'm lucky to live close to both RAF Waddington and RAF Coningsby, but my first trip to ex-RAF Wickenby. Are you close enough to Farnborough to have caught all the traffic last week?
Not any more we moved away from there but we’re only 12 miles away or so, I did see a Typhoon fly over, as they come out a long way from the show.
They're a bit fast aren't they 😁
Definitely!
Incredible shots! Glad to see you back in action!
@castleberry many thanks
