While walking along the Caroní promenade in the city of Puerto Ordaz, Bolívar state, a beautiful and colorful mural caught my attention, located on one of the walls that are part of the perimeter fence of a company. It stands out for its vibrant colors. Without wasting time, I got as close as I could to the mural and took several photographs. The mural corresponds to the mayor's office of the municipality and has elements that represent this area of the region.

Mientras caminaba por el paseo Caroní de la ciudad Puerto Ordaz estado Bolívar, me llamó la atención un lindo y colorido mural, ubicado en una de las de las paredes que forman parte de la cerca perimetral de una empresa, este destaca por sus vibrantes colores, sin perder tiempo me acerqué lo más que pude hasta el mural y tomé varias fotografías, el mural corresponde a la alcaldía del municipio y cuenta con elementos que representan a esta zona de la región.

Among the representative elements of the Guayana region, the mural highlights a toucan, an orchid, a macaw, the logo of the mayor's office and the face of an indigenous woman with her typical attire and makeup. The orchid is an important part of the vegetation and is the national flower of the country. It is the first time that I have seen a red orchid. I have regularly seen them in white, purple and yellow but I had never seen a red one.
This flower immediately caught my attention because of its color. Since the mural is located near a stop, I asked a man who was waiting for transportation the name of the flower. At first I thought it was a cayenne, but he explained to me that the red orchid is very common in this area and that is why it is the one that appears in the mural and not the purple one that we regularly see in photos and books. The toucan, for its part, is a bird whose habitat is located in the jungle, it stands out for its long beak and feathers of beautiful colors, as well as the characteristic and unmistakable sound it emits. The macaw is one of the birds that has been domesticated and is one of the pets that abound in several regions of the country, including this region, they are very striking for their colorful plumage.
Entre los elementos representativos de la región de Guayana, el mural destaca un tucán, una orquídea, una guacamaya, el logo de la alcaldía y el rostro de una indígena con su atuendo y maquillaje típico, la orquídea forma parte importante de la vegetación y esla flor nacional del país, es la primera vez que veo una orquídea de color rojo, regularmente las he visto de color blanco, morado y amarillo pero nunca había visto una de color rojo.
Esta flor me llamó la atención de inmediato por su color, como el mural se ubica cerca de una parada, le pregunté a un señor que esparaba transporte el nombre de flor, al principio pensé que era una cayena, pero él me explicó, que la orquídea de color rojo es muy común en esta zona y por ello es la que aparece en el mural y no la de color morado que regularmente vemos en fotos y libros, el tucán por su parte es un ave cuyo hábitat se localiza en la selva, destaca por su largo pico y plumas de hermosos colores, además el caracterísco e inconfundible sonido que emite. La guacamaya es una de las aves que ha sido domesticada y es una de las mascotas que abundan en varias regiones del país, incluyendo esta región, son muy llamativas por su colorido plumaje.
The painting of the girl refers to the different indigenous groups that live in the Guayana region in the states of Bolívar, Amazonas and Delta Amacuro, due to its jungle and mountain condition, it is the habitat of estopsa groups, and they love to live in contact with nature and take advantage of its benefits in a balanced way, they also maintain a close relationship of harmony with the environment, the mural is large and covers a large part of the wall, due to its size it was not possible to take a complete photo, only a side photo where A complete view of the paintings is shown, there is also the logo of the mayor's office, which is a white circle with the gear symbol on the edge that represents the industrial development of this municipality, a blue figure that represents water, another green figure that represents the abundant vegetation, these natural elements (water and vegetation) are abundant in this area, since the Orinoco River, the Caroní River, among others, passes through here and the area has, as I already said, large extensions of jungle and mountains.
I liked this mural, for its beautiful colors and pretty figures, which represent the city and the Guayana region, among the paintings is Angel Falls (the highest in the world), located in the Canaima National Park (Santa Elena de Uairén), border with Brazil, it is one of the most beautiful and visited destinations in the country, the murals are colorful, striking and adorn the avenues in several cities, in recent years placing murals on the main avenues has become a trend, because these In addition to decorating, they show and highlight the cultural and natural aspects that identify a region or a city. It was very exciting to see this mural and see the red orchid in painting. I hope to see it in a garden or in its habitat in the near future.
La pintura de la chica, hace referencia a los diferentes grupos indígenas que habitan en la región de Guayana en los estados Bolívar, Amazonas y Delta Amacuro, debido a su condición selvática y de montaña, es el hábitat de estopsa grupos ,pyues ellosaman vivir en contacto con la naturaleza y aprovechar sus beneficios de forma equilibrada, además mantienen una estrecha relación de armonía con el entorno, el mural es amplio y abarca gran parte de la pared, debido a su tamaño no fue posible tomar una foto completa solo una foto lateral donde se muestra una vista completa de las pinturas, en él también se encuentra el logo de la alcaldía, que es un círculo de color blanco con el símbolo de engranaje en el borde que representa el desarrollo industrial de este municipio, una figura de color azul que representa el agua otra de color verde que representa la abundante vegetación, estos elementos naturales (agua y vegetación) son abundantes en esta zona, pues por aquí pasa el río Orinoco, el río Caroní, entre otros y la zona cuenta, como ya lo dije grandes extensiones de selva y montañas.
Me gustó este mural, por sus hermosos colores y lindas figuras, que representan a la ciudad y la región Guayana, entre las pinturas se encuentra el Salto Ángel (el más alto del mundo), ubicado en el parque Nacional Canaima (Santa Elena de Uairén), frontera con Brasil, es uno de los destinos más hermosos y visitados del país, los murales son coloridos, llamativos y adornan las avenidas en varias ciudades, durante los últimos años el colocar murales en las principales avenidas se ha convertido en una tendencia, pues estos además de adornar muestran y resaltan los aspectos culturales y naturales que identifican a una región o una ciudad, fue muy emocionante ver este mural y conocer en pintura la orquídea roja, espero en un futuro cercano verla en un jardín o en su hábitat.
