Hey everyone, i've decided to create a few recap posts over the next couple of weeks with some of my favourite images within a category!
This post is going to be a recap of my astrophotography images for the year!
The fist astro image that I created for the year was this shot of the milky way rising over the 12 apostles. This is well and truly my favourite milky way shot for the year and is totally different to anything else, using a different vantage point to get this unique shot.
Galactic Apostles, 2022.
At some point after my first milky way image for the year I won a star tracker and was able to put it to use for this image. I haven't posted this image before so I will make a full post about it as well.
Milky Way rising over an epic tree, 2022.
The next image I took was the milky way and aurora rising over a local Mountain. This shot was totally unexpected, as I was only planning on getting the milky way rising and got very lucky!
Mt Noorat Aurora and Milky Way Rising, 2022.
I was staying at my grandparents earlier in the year when there were aurora alerts going off so I raced down to the coast and got the faint ending of the show.
The aurora over Childers Cove, 2022.
This shot was taken at 1:30am on a cold winter night after the clouds cleared. I was about to head home, when the clouds had cleared just in time!
Thunder Point Astro, 2022.
The next image was taken as I was waiting for the moon to set for a milky way image I wanted to capture. I was lucky again to get the aurora.
Bakers Oven Aurora, 2022.
This is the image I was aiming to get when I captured the above image! It was a little scary being here by myself at 12:30am.
The Milkyway Rising over an ocean waterfall, 2022.
I didn't have to go far to find the next subject, going down to Gibsons steps to get this moonlit milky way image that I think turned out pretty cool.
Moonlit Gibsons, 2022.
These are my favourite astro images for the year! While I got a few I really like, I wasn't able to get out as much as I would've liked, so hopefully I will be able to share plenty more next year!
I will be doing a few more posts like this over December, and will be posting my 1 year on hive post soon as well!
As always, thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy these images :)
I would definitely like to see parts of it on the beach.
Perfections👏😀
