Well. I wish you success finding spiders. Last year I had a big black widow living in a saddlebag I made (20mm Ammo can) but he had an accident so I can't help you much.
We've got tarantulas here, but you have to go out at night with a UV light, and there are lots of bad actors at night.
My wife says that we have a black widow nested near the steps leading into the house, but I havent found it yet. I would love to get some shots of it though.
