A headline I saw a few days ago reminded me of much older times, long gone.
Does Anybody Still Remember Tree Tuesday?
I think there are a few who remember, including myself.
"Once upon a time", that's how all childhood stories began.
Once upon a time in Steemit and Hive most of us were doing... challenges.
Challenges were a great help for those who couldn't find topics to post, and they were generally a great help for beginners.
Remembering some challenges...
#ColorChallenge by @kalemandra, where each day had a color, you had to post a few photos and a little story about that color.
#MarketFriday by @dswigle is a challenge that could fit anything about what can be bought or sold.
#TreeTuesday by @old-guy-photos, when you were supposed to write a post with and about trees. "With" means photos.
The challenge owners were not the owners, they were the ones who invented the "tag" and were moderators, more or less moderators.
Here was the problem, with the moderators or, rather, the curators. The one who proposed a challenge had to take the time to see all the posts, vote, and give feedback. It wasn't easy, especially if there were a lot of posts.
Some got bored with time, for example, @kalemandra hasn't posted for about three years.
On the other hand, @dswigle, who has worked hard for more than five years to keep #MarketFriday going, had to quit and take a break, far too long, but we hope, those of us who know her, see her back here soon.
Some challenges didn't disappear when the initiators didn't want to or couldn't, or got bored of giving them the same attention as in the beginning. These challenges have drifted through Hive and many of us have still written using the respective tag, even if we no longer get feedback from the founder.
In this situation was #TreeTuesday which @old-guy-photos asks us if we forgot about.
I haven't forgotten and to prove it, I'll put some pictures of trees today...
A trip to my childhood places prevented me from posting for a week.
I am a man who grew up in the country and have lived in the city for more than fifty years, a city big enough that I can't see its edges.
Anyone who grew up in the freedom of the countryside has a huge nostalgia for the places where they grew up and the unique nature they experienced.
Trees have always been part of the landscape.
Ground, grass, trees, and blue sky. My childhood universe!
I try to imagine this landscape without trees and... I can't!
My childhood playground. I don't remember if this tree (a cherry) was there then.
The villages are full of trees.
The evening is coming. Do trees sleep at night?
I remembered some challenges driven by nostalgia for my beginnings here in Hive. Now many of the challenges have turned into communities. Communities that bring together those with common interests and passions. Communities are an improved version of challenges only because some more curators and moderators can evaluate as many posts as possible to give votes and feedback.
That's not to say that there aren't communities where you don't feel the presence of moderators, not getting the feedback you expect. Probably their future will be the same with the challenges that are still drifting and we forgot them.
Challenges... how cool and also how cool the trees, I love them, their energy, everything about them and I can't imagine certain landscapes without trees either. Beautiful pictures!😃
Thank you agree with me!
🤗🤗🤗
I pity for today's children as there has almost remained no grass and tree around.
That's right, childhood is different now.
Very beautiful landscapes and nice shots @bluemoon Have a great day!

It's true! I have been gone far too long! I can never forget the joy of #MarketFriday or #alwaysaflower. And... I have missed you!
I'm still not over it and don't even think it's real. I think you understand my joy and my desire to be well there with you. I miss you too, Denise!
