The beautiful part of life is that sometimes it gives you wonderful surprises and gifts. I don't know if these good gifts are enough to make us forget the other less pleasant gifts, but I'm ready to think so. My rather long life has given me many sad and painful moments but I realize now that I have forgotten most of them. Could it be because of good gifts?
One of the most beautiful gifts that life has to offer is friendship. Thanks to friends we have achieved a record so far this year. I have traveled to the sea three times; tomorrow will be the fourth time.
On Sunday our dearest friends have an anniversary they want to celebrate at the seaside and, we received an invitation.
The chosen place is Balchik, a city and resort on the Black Sea in Bulgaria. I have to say that this is my favorite place by the sea, which I rarely change to another destination.
Luckily, it is also my friends' favorite place and I want to brag that I recommended this resort.
Because today is the day dedicated to preparing for tomorrow morning's trip, memories of Balchik and the Black Sea came to my head and soul.
This picture is from the second trip, in May. The hotel is Lighthouse Golf&Spa.
The first trip this year was at the end of January. The first time I went to the sea in winter. There was no snow, this winter was the warmest winter I have experienced so far.
There was another first. First encounter with the local cat, mistress of the pool, and its surroundings. I don't know her name, I call him Black & White.
A comparison between January and May.
We met again with Black & White in May and I hope to see him again tomorrow.
We were dressed in the same clothes in May as in January. This, I think helps to understand climate change in our part of the world (Eastern Europe).
Being sea lovers, we always want a hotel room with a sea view.
On our second stay we were given a room with a garden view and initially (i.e. before we saw it) we were a bit disappointed.
Once on the balcony, we saw that the garden was a vast golf course...
... and the view was superb.
I love the sea for many reasons and one of them is its vastness and the possibility to see the horizon, the place where the sky meets water. The view from the balcony showed me a different kind of horizon, where the sky meets the land and I could see that it was just as spectacular.
I considered my seaside vacations blue, the dominant color of the sky and the sea. This short May vacation was... green. Green dominated the other colors and sensations.
It was a battle of colors, as is spring. I declared green the winner, a subjective opinion, of course, everyone can choose his color.
Spring can be a dangerous competitor for the sea because it is also full of beauty.
In July we were again in Balchik but stayed in another hotel, in a more crowded area. It was a different story.
Now I am curious how I will find the hotel of my first two vacations, I know from my friends who invited us and came from there a week ago that it is very crowded.
I don't like crowds, but I'll try to escape to places I couldn't go before, like this road that leads to an area that was closed in the spring…
I hope to meet Black & White again and learn more from him how to relax.
