Flies are insects that have two pairs of wings, where one pair of wings is for flying and the other pair is only for maintaining balance. All over the world it is estimated that there are more than fifty thousands of species of flies. They can be found in various habitats such as in water, on plants, on the ground, under bark or rocks, in rotting plants and animals, even in raw gasoline.

In general, flies breed in dry and warm areas. Their favorite menu to eat is leftover livestock, fruits and vegetables. Flies produce hundreds of eggs in decaying organic matter where the maggot form remains on the material during its growth. Flies like to live anywhere, in houses, in restaurants, in canteens, hospitals, livestock pens, slaughterhouses, and food industries. In addition, outside the house or building flies can breed in garbage dumps, markets, streets, and others.

For more information, flies can also be pests due to their habit of carrying germs of various diseases that can be transmitted to humans and animals such as dysentery, typhoid, cholera, salmonellosis, etc. Such as fruit flies which are usually found on vegetables or fruits that are rotting or undergoing fermentation, and house flies which eat and lay eggs on human feces, animal feces or animal carcasses and rotting vegetables.
