Red And Black Ants On Macro Lens

in Photography Lovers4 days ago (edited)

Hello Everyone

I haven't posted in any community on the Hive platform for the past few days. Today I'm back with a post of some pictures of miniature living creatures that I photographed using a macro lens from the Samsung SM-A52s smartphone. There are several objects in miniature size that I photographed. I get everything from the neighborhood where I live.

Red Ants

The first image I managed to get to share on this occasion was a picture of a red ant perched on a branch of a patchouli tree planted by my uncle in front of the house we occupy. This type of ant, from several articles I read on the internet, can be said to be a nuisance ant that often attacks plants.

This red ant is even categorized into the 100 worst invasive ants in the world. Its spread has spread to different parts of the world and has reached tropical areas such as Indonesia and other tropical countries. It is also categorized as a pest that is very hostile to farmers because it damages the tropical crops they grow.

Black Ants

The next image is of black ants commonly found in many habitats, including gardens where nests form under paving stones, on the ground, and between stacks of bricks. During hot and humid summer weather, adult winged ants appear and swarm in large numbers; These 'flying ants' mate and eventually spread to form new colonies.

The black garden ant colony is huge, having thousands of workers who collect food, keep the nest clean and care for its young, as well as the queen who produces the eggs. The diet of black garden ants varies, but includes squeezing aphids to get their honeydew.
