In kinetic photography, the camera is moved as the picture is taken. Extraordinary effects can be achieved in this way. For example, you can swing the camera around on the strap during the exposure, or place the camera on a turntable and give it a spin during the exposure. There are also photographers who throw their camera in the air during the exposure and then catch it. I would also add changing the focal length setting during the exposure.
The possibilities are endless. Of course you should have set a long exposure beforehand and close the aperture far enough so that the picture is not overexposed.
Bei der kinetische Fotografie wird die Kamera während der Aufnahme bewegt. Dabei können außergewöhnliche Effekte erzielt werden. Man kann zum Beispiel die Kamera während der Belichtung am Gurt herumschleudern oder die Kamera auf einen Drehteller platzieren und ihr während der Aufnahme einen Spin geben. Es gibt auch Fotografen, die ihre Kamera während der Belichtung in die Luft werfen und dann auffangen. Ich zähle auch die Veränderung der Brennweiteneinstellung während der Belichtung mit dazu.
Die Möglichkeiten sind endlos. Natürlich sollte man vorher eine Langzeitbelichtung eingestellt haben und die Blende weit genug schließen, damit die Aufnahme nicht überbelichtet wird.

Light sources conjure up the greatest effects. At this point I had already presented some light painting with camera rotations.
Today we are talking about daylight shots. My camera was fixed on a tripod. I refrained from spectacular, acrobatic throwing and slinging performances with the camera.
In the cover photo I zoomed in from 12 to 40mm during the exposure.
Lichtquellen zaubern die tollsten Effekte. Ich hatte an dieser Stelle schon einige Lightpainting mit Kamerarotationen vorgestellt.
Heute dreht es sich hier um Aufnahmen bei Tageslicht. Meine Kamera stand fest auf einem Stativ. Von spektakulären, akrobatischen Wurf- und Schleuderperformances mit der Kamera sah ich ab.
Im Titelbild zoomte ich während der Belichtung von 12 auf 40mm.

For a sufficiently long exposure time of 2 to 3 seconds I used ND filters.
Für eine ausreichende lange Belichtungszeit von 2 bis 3 Sekunden benutzte ich ND-Filter.

In the picture above and the following picture, I turned the forest into a whirlpool. To achieve the effect of a whirlpool, I moved the tripod head during the exposure so that the camera rotated around the optical axis.
Auf dem Bild oben und dem folgenden Bild verwandelte ich den Wald in einen Wasserstrudel. Um den Effekt eines Strudels zu erzielen, bewegte ich den Stativkopf während der Belichtung so, dass sich die Kamera um die optische Achse drehte.

Fazit
It is not particularly difficult to produce interesting results with kinetic photography. Any camera can be used for this. Filters and a manual mode on the camera make it easier to generate reproducible results in a targeted manner. The combination of different photo techniques with kinetic photography creates endless possibilities.
Es ist nicht besonders schwierig interessante Ergebnisse mit Kinetischer Fotografie zu erzeugen. Jede Kamera kann dafür verwendet werden. Filter und ein manueller Modus an der Kamera erleichtert es dabei gezielt reproduzierbare Ergebnisse zu erzeugen. Die Kombination verschiedener Fototechniken mit der Kinetischen Fotografie schafft unendlich viele Möglichkeiten.

The Location
In the south of Brazil, on the edge of the plateau to the coastal region, on the border between Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina, you will find the Aparados da Serra National Park. It borders the Serra Geral National Park to the north. Both national parks are in the area of the Mata Atlântica and of breathtaking natural beauty.
Im Süden Brasiliens, an der Bruchkante der Hochebene zur Küstenregion, an der Grenze zwischen Rio Grande do Sul und Santa Catarina, findet man den Nationalpark Aparados da Serra. Er grenzt im Norden an den Nationalpark Serra Geral. Beide Nationalparks sind im Bereich der Mata Atlântica und von einer atemberaubenden Schönheit der Natur.

WHAT IS LIGHT PAINTING?
Light painting is a unique form of art. The darkness is illuminate by the artist with diverse light sources and light traces are paint into the picture with various light tools. Various techniques are use, such as camera rotation or other movements of the camera during the exposure. The creative possibilities are almost unlimited. All the pictures were taken during one single exposure. Apart from denoising, sharpening, cutting and possibly adjusting the white balance, the pictures are not processed on the computer.

Danke Sven! Kinetische Fotografie ist ja auch malen mit Licht. Wenn man das mit Tageslicht macht, hat das den Vorteil, dass man die Nacht im warmen Bettchen verbringen kann. 😉
