Last Sunday, I reported on my trip to Biysk. There I presented the city in a few pictures and concluded with a light painting.

Today I present the second part of the journey. Again with a light painting at the end, of course.
Am letzten Sonntag berichtete ich von meiner Reise nach Bijsk. Dort stellte ich die Stadt auf einigen Bildern vor und präsentierte zum Abschluss ein Lightpainting.

Heute präsentiere ich den zweiten Teil der Reise. Natürlich wieder mit einem Lightpainting zum Schluss.

Some of the interesting locations in Biysk seem to have fallen out of time. One of them was not far from my hotel. An amusement park. The rides looked as if no one was still operating them. The park exuded the charm of Prypiat. Every now and then, however, you could see that the carousels were by no means unused and did their job when demanded.
Einige der interessanten Locations von Bijsk wirken etwas aus der Zeit gefallen. Eine davon befand sich unweit von meinem Hotel. Ein Freizeitpark. Die Fahrgeschäfte sahen aus, als würde sie niemand mehr betreiben. Der Park versprüht den Charme von Prypjat. Hin und wieder sah man jedoch, dass die Karussells keines Wegs unbenutzt blieben und bei entsprechender Nachfrage ihren Dienst taten.

Right at the entrance to the park, you are greeted by Tsar Peter on horseback. If you walk a little further into the park, you come to the rides.
Gleich am Eingang des Parks wird man vom Zar Peter hoch zu Roß begrüßt. Läuft man ein Stück weiter in den Park, kommt man zu den Fahrgeschäften.

When I looked at the merry-go-rounds, my head immediately started spinning. What did it look like here 30 years ago?I began to search the location for lighting in order to plan a light painting. From my first light painting in this city, I knew that there would be no disturbances here at night.
Als ich auf die Karussells blickte, startete sofort das Kopfkino in mir. Wie hat es hier wohl vor 30 Jahren ausgesehen? Ich fing an, die Location auf Beleuchtung zu durchsuchen, um ein Lightpainting zu planen. Von meinem ersten Lightpainting in dieser Stadt wußte ich, dass hier nachts nicht mit Störungen zu rechnen war.

So I first took some photos of the individual rides so that I could visit this location again at night.
Also nahm ich erstmal einige Fotos von den einzelnen Fahrgeschäften auf, um diese Location des Nachts erneut zu besuchen.

Some of the rides I found were really unusual, reminiscent of training equipment for space travel.
Teilweise fand ich wirklich außergewöhnliche Fahrgeschäfte, die an Trainingsgeräte für die Raumfahrt erinnern.

In the evening, I set off for the theme park with my friend Viktor. When we entered the grounds at night, the rollercoaster turned out to be the ideal spot in terms of light. The area could not be seen from the road. For the first shot, I used an LEDLenser P7 with the blue setting.
Am Abend machte ich mich mit meinem Freund Viktor auf den Weg zum Freizeitpark. Als wir das Gelände des Nachts betraten, entpuppte sich die Achterbahn vom Licht her als idealster Platz. Das Gelände war von der Straße aus nicht zu sehen. Für die erste Aufnahme verwendete ich eine LEDLenser P7 mit der Einstellung blau.

Then Viktor and I came up with the idea of having the train go to hell. Viktor played the helmsman. It gets hot in hell, so flames had to be in the picture. The flames were created using fiber optics on a flashlight with a red color filter. I lit the rest as in the previous picture. We had a lot of fun during the shoot. Unfortunately, we only took one picture because we had to get up early the next day and go to work.
Dann entwickelten Viktor und ich die Idee, die Bahn in die Hölle fahren zu lassen. Viktor spielte den Steuermann. In der Hölle wird es heiss, also mussten Flammen ins Bild. Die Flammen wurden durch Glasfaser an einer Taschenlampe mit rotem Farbfilter erzeugt. Den Rest beleuchtete ich wie auf dem Bild zuvor. Wir hatten jede Menge Spaß während der Aufnahme. Leider bleib es bei einem Bild, da wir am nächsten Tag früh aufstehen und zu Arbeit mußten.

In the last picture I show the tools used for the light painting. I used an LEDLenser P7, a KLARUS XT11GT with color filter and fiber optics.

What Is Light Painting?
Light painting is a unique art form. As a rule, the darkness is illuminated by the artist with various light sources and traces of light are painted into the picture with various lighting tools. Various techniques are used, such as camera rotation or other movements of the camera during exposure. The creative possibilities are almost unlimited. When using ND filters, this technique can also be used in daylight. All images were taken during a single exposure. Apart from denoising, sharpening, cropping and possibly adjusting the white balance, the images are not processed on the computer.
Lichtmalerei ist eine einzigartige Kunstform. In der Regel wird die Dunkelheit mit diversen Lichtquellen vom Künstler ausgeleuchtet und Lichtspuren mit diversen Lichtwerkzeugen ins Bild gemalt. Dabei kommen verschiedene Techniken zum Einsatz, wie Kamerarotation oder andere Bewegungen der Kamera während der Belichtung. Die kreativen Möglichkeiten sind nahezu unbegrenzt. Bei Einsatz von ND-Filtern kann diese Technik auch bei Tageslicht angewand werden. Alle Bilder wurden während einer einzigen Belichtung aufgenommen. Abgesehen vom Entrauschen, Schärfen, Beschneiden und eventuellem Anpassen des Weißabgleichs werden die Bilder nicht am Computer bearbeitet.

Sieht tatsächlich aus wie ein Lost Place.
In den vier Wochen in denen ich vor Ort war, habe ich ein oder zwei drehende Karussells gesehen.
