A few days ago i was lucky enough to purchase a ticket (19€) for the biggest Chinese Lantern festival held outside China.
This spectacular event took place in Blagnac, near Toulouse in France and consisted of a display of 2,500 giant light lanterns and light installations.
The enormous light sculptures, including flowers, birds, whales, pandas, dinosaurs, temples and dragons, were created by Chinese craftsmen in the city of Zigong in Sichuan province and assembled during 4 months in the town of Blagnac.
Each lantern is hand-painted and hand-crafted of modern eco-friendly materials and eco-friendly colored LED light bulbs
The lanterns symbolize people letting go of the past year and welcoming the new year with good fortune.
