Winter Lake Photography: Tracks

in Photography Lovers4 years ago

Hi fellow Photography fans,

Today I’m starting a small series of a fun bunch of pictures that I took the other day when we visited the lake house recently.

Tracker

There was a lot of really fun activity going on at the lake this past weekend. Lots of people were out, the sun was shining and we were able to do a lot of really cool exploring around the area!

One of the fun things that I noticed was there was a lot of tracks all over the place, given that it snowed fairly recently so all kinds of cool stuff was visible right nearby.

The ice wasn’t thick enough for my comfort to be walking on it, but there were lots of people walking all over it and even more intense, driving 4 wheelers all around. People are antsy though so to their own risk lol.

There were these really cool impressions in the snow of all kinds of leaves. That was interesting for the little man to look at and see what he could find!

One of the fun things was to see the different animal tracks. I’m not the best animal tracker person but I thought I was doing pretty good with them. This one looked like it was either a goose or a duck. I’m not sure there are chickens running around but it was some type of bird type.

There were quite a few wheel tracks from the 4 wheelers! We saw some of the guys driving around, it would be cool to go around the whole lake, on the sand of course for me, on one of these!

There were some tracks that were pretty interesting, I want to figure out of it was just some guy’s dog or if it was an animal like a fox or something prowling around! I know we have a fair amount of coyotes in the area, probably more in this lake area since it has better woods than we do. Probably not something cool as that though and a dog lol.

I think the tracks here are the beginning of the one above, this seems to be where the animal got onto the ice.

Not sure if this is the same track but this looks like a dog to me. It’s cool though trying to identify them with our son so he gets used to seeing and being interested in these types of things.

Haha. "And here's a duck print, oh look, a fox print! And here is the elusive4 wheeler print."

Looks like a fun time!

Hahah thanks! It was indeed very fun. The different tracks all over the place are interesting to look at!

Cool shots! For some reason I like the one with the leaf the most....
But about this lake, is it a protected area?
And ughum are you allowed to fly drones for more pics? 😃

Thanks man, I know! The leaf one was really cool. Very basic but as well some interesting component to it!

The lake isn't "protected" in the sense that you can't do anything around it, there are numerous houses and stuff. The environmental agency though has taken more interest to make sure that the habitat of the lake isn't destroyed though, so in a way yes.

Yeah some people use drones around here. We don't own one so we can't do that but eventually it would be cool to grab a drone!

Nice shots! Love the simplicity of the photo of the leaf in the snow.

Thank you! I know it was one of my favorite photos of the whole day! There are some more on the way, spreading them out hehe. Appreciate you stopping by!
