Ever play with needles? Can't say that I have, under doctor's orders to restrict myself to things that shoot. The same does not apply to my partner, so this weekend we headed to the appropriately named Mama Tried Tattoo Parlour in the Highlands.
They've been coming here for close to a year, getting their arms worked on by Victoria here. Victoria was kind enough to give me permission to shoot, so the Nikon came along too.
Alright, how many of y'all have tattoos? There's nary a one on me, but that's mainly because most of my 'good' ideas don't age well. Plus my firearm and camera habits always got in the way.
Have always been fond of tattoos, my judgement on the other hand, not so much. Haven't been in too many tattoo parlours, but this one is my new favorite, and not just because I got to take photos there.
It was just a fun little place, art everywhere, and besides where else are you going to get to talk about sumo wrestling with your tattoo artist?
Didn't hurt that Victoria was amazing. Well, the tattoo may have hurt a little...
Before I knew it our time was up. There's still more to be done though, so we'll be seeing Victoria again soon.
I have tattoos. One of them is a crow. BET YOU NEVER WOULD HAVE GUESSED THAT.
What if you got a tattoo of a camera? Just a tiny hand tattoo so it pokes out of your sleeve in the winter and gives folks the impression you're covered in ink everywhere else they can't see.
I'd like to get more tattoos but I somehow seem to keep spending my tattoo money on travel and writing classes and skating and hockey. I need to get my priorities straight...
WHAT!?! YOU? Lol, never would have suspected that :D
Now that's a thought. Lol, my bestie tried for years to get me to get matching tattoos with her but she's still not managed to convince me.
Sounds like you already have your priorities straight to me. I always was finding things I wanted to spend money on more than tattoos, probably the main thing that saved me from bad decisions. Lol, just monetize the Crow Cam!
I don't have any ink. I remember listening to a podcast or reading an article ages ago where a tattoo artists suggested posting a picture of a tattoo design on your refrigerator for a year, and only if you weren't tired of seeing it should you consider having it inked. I had already come to similar conclusions to avoid expensive impulses by waiting to see whether an idea held its allure over time, and nothing did.
Yeah, I've had similar experiences with the 'wait and see' method. Didn't help that I'd seen some copaganda show or another where they were taking photos of peoples tattoos and using them against them and it just didn't seem like a good idea.
Now that you mention it, weren't tattoos a big clue in the original game Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?
I can remember playing the game but honestly don't remember if it was or not. Would not surprise me if that's where I first picked that up from. Lol, more than anything I just remember the TV show.
Best theme song in PBS history
