Swallows in Sweet Light

Not to be confused with Cows in Sweet Light, which was an entirely different and highly confusing/frustrating/infuriating experience that I don't wish to relive. Still can't get the stink out of the drapes.
But these little guys...
They's babies.
I shared some in black and white a week ago and figured seven days was enough time elapsed to share the color versions without looking cheap.
I don't look cheap, do I?
This kid looks "cheep."

I'm only posting because I'm helping to keep hive on life support.
And trying to earn a few measly bucks to support my traveling habit.
Maybe I can get enough for half a liter of gas in the Yukon.
Hope Pilot and I don't get stranded up there.

Anyhow, back to the swallows.
Fledglings.
That's how I got so close.
Fledglings are ignorant. (Not to be confused with stupid, that's a mean word and babies aren't stupid they just don't know shit.)

Ok that baby heard me.
They're giving me the stink eye, now.

I like to use they/them pronouns for unknown sexes of birds because it is just plain insulting.
"Look at that human over there! It's picking its nose!"

Speaking of they/them, my friend who used to be she/her and is now they/them "theyed" me at their birthday party when referring to how long they'd known me.
I didn't like it. I should have piped up. Raised my hand.
"Ahem, um, she, please."
Just because I feel, oh, let's say 75% percent androgynous doesn't mean I don't thoroughly embrace and celebrate the fact that I am a woman. Feels like a gift. For me, anyway. She/her, please.
Next time I will assert.
