Walking in the fog

I love foggy mornings. The humidity in the air combined with the misty atmosphere makes me feel like I am in a different world.

It's quiet. Nobody is outside. Most people are sleeping. The city looks like an abandoned place where everything remained still in a time bubble. Although many details are erased because of the fog, I feel I like this mood so much more. It leaves room for the imagination. What else is out there?

I feel how I can leave my worries aside and inhale simple life. I like it when it is quiet. I love to spend time in nature and I could walk for hours.

The fog is my favourite photo filter. It keeps just the big things in the background. Maybe this is a lesson we should learn to apply in real life: how to keep the focus on what really matters and ignore the futile details.

When I walk in such an atmosphere I feel like I am more alive. A sense of our true self can get lost in the urban life, where if you are not self aware you can lose yourself in the incessant race for more money, status or validation. Such walks in nature bring me back to the essential of life.

I was thinking how almost all of the man-created objects were once an obsession for their creators. I can still hear many people attached to concepts like "MY house", "MY job", "MY money", "MY family", "MY circle" etc. Most of them are dead. And so will we. Houses, cars, social media accounts, land, stocks and crypto. You name it, it is going to remain in material form on this Planet. So what we strive to create and hold on to so much is actually not ours until the end. So what matters after all then?

Just like the fog shows how the void can be beautiful, I also tend to believe that the gist of our existence is what we become in the pursuit of our wants. Have you ever wondered how people's lives have improved because of your presence? Did you offer genuine love, friendship and help? When you look back, are you proud of yourself as a human being? I pondered and I reflected to these questions. I did not like some of the answers as I look at a distant past self as not being a kind person, but in some situations I am proud of how I handled the whole thing. I grew stronger and a better human being trying to understand myself. We are not perfect yet every single day when we open our eyes gives us another chance to make it happen. I now tend to look more to the future than to keep going to the past. The past can't be changed. It was what it was. And overthinking about it stops any progress and change. I believe we do need a thick layer of conscious fog put on top of our past self in order to reveal a bigger self which wants to express.

People look so tiny in the foggy pictures. The fog shows how any creature can become just a shadow on Earth, reduced to a dot. In a way we are all connected and the journey is about figuring out how to become the best version of ourselves and still remain Human.

I hope to catch more days with fog as I like to wake up early in the morning and inhale a sense of a bigger Universe standing behind all of us. It makes life look like a very short time we have at our disposal on this tiny blue dot called Earth...

Foggy mornings are a magical thing indeed, and I love the pictures you've captured.

If it were me, I like to go sit in the fog on the deck with a hot coffee and spend a few minutes doing nothing but enjoying. It's a beautiful thing.

Oh God yes, I would do the same as you. I love the way it makes me feel. It is like having 1 on 1 time with your soul and in a way with the Universe itself. Thank you🤗

Makes you feel like anything or anyone could appear any time, behind the next cloud of fog... an the sound is different...Beautiful!!

Thank you🤗 Yes, it is silence. I love silence

Fog is cool any time of day! I think you captured some excellent shots and i thank you for sharing them here in this community with us. I loved reading about your thoughts and feelings of how fog gives you insight into different perspectives. It was pretty thought-provoking and an interesting way to look at things. Cheers!

Yes it is awesome! Around water and lakes it looks the most spectacular, I had the opportunity to see that too but did not get any captures. In the future I will. Thank you 🤗

Beautiful shots!

Thank you very much🤗

I loved how you played with the mist, they look beautifully mysterious, like from a movie, they are true photographic jewels, I congratulate you

Oh thank you a lot! I feel they have a movie like vibe, it must be the atmosphere. I feel I make better photos when I do not think of the final outcome, just going by intuition and capturing what I feel

OMG!! this one is just more than cinematic i really loved it, for me is an inspiration to go outside while is cold and try to get shoots like that one,

i love the mood that fog gives to all photos, all photos looks like from a movie haha and that's cool

Thank you so much, I appreciate it🤗
Well it is necessary to get up quite early. It is cold and not pretty but once you get the hang of it you will love it. The fog does not stay for long so perfect timing is the key. It was well worth it.

Thank you! 🤗
