Waterfalls in Alberta, Canada

Waterfalls are a gift from nature and are a popular feature in our parks. Many trails lead to these cascading beauties and we can't help but capture them in photos. The main image was probably taken in Johnston Canyon, Banff. It was late May, one can still see ice and snow. The river has appealing tint of dark aquamarine and the water is high from the spring melt.

Unedited and raw waterfall pictures are just as good, these majestic torrents are difficult to improve. This photo would have also been taken in Banff in May of 2022. We didn't know the park very well at that time since we were on a house hunting vacation and took a weekend break to enjoy nature.

This is but a trickle of water running down from Grotto Mountain into Grotto Canyon. It was taken in late July when the snow melt would be finished and Alberta is often dry.

Grotto Canyon is an incredibly popular hike and this is about as far as one can go without some serious gear. You have to scramble up a little to get this shot but some things are worth getting one's hands dirty for.

This classic Rockies shot is of upper Kananaskis falls. Kananaskis is the Provincial park which is next to Banff. Everyone heads to Banff, Yoho, Jasper or Kootenay but locals know this area is just as gorgeous and less crowded. Keep in mind, this is on the far end of the lake and a bit of a hike to get to.

This waterfall is far easier to get to as it is located in right in the town of Banff. On can see mount Norquay in the background , to the left would be Banff Springs Hotel and to the right would be the Banff Centre for Arts. All hidden by nature.

Nice shots! The nature guy in me enjoys the view. The techie in me wonders which phone produced each pic 🤣

The first one is an Iphone and is probably filtered, the rest of them are unfiltered probably s A70. Last one looks like the S20.

Nice. They all produce solid shots

It's just like all the natural things like this are very special for all of us. It is very nice to visit all these places, all these places are very relaxing.
