El Retiro fue el jardín privado del Rey donde poder pasear y cazar a su antojo. Hoy día es el lugar donde los madrileños descansan del ajetreo de la ciudad. En el centro del parque se encuentra un gran estanque rodeado de césped y a un gran conjunto de esculturas de gran valor arquitectónico.
The Retiro was the King's private garden where he could stroll and hunt as he pleased. Today it is the place where the people of Madrid take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. In the centre of the park is a large pond surrounded by lawns and a large group of sculptures of great architectural value.
La escalinata de piedra del monumento hace la función de embarcadero y de lugar perfecto para fotografiar a las parejas en las barcas.
The stone steps of the monument serve as a pier and a perfect place to photograph couples in boats.
