Do you remember the last day when time just stood still? And when you finally checked the time you realized that most of the day was left to enjoy and didn’t just slip through the fingers.
Well this week I had such a day, a perfect day for reflection to look back over the year before we enter 2022. It felt like time was standing still, there was no wind at all, the sky was a dark deep blue colour, and it was quiet. In the same time the landscape had frozen over night and definitely added to your the feeling of serenity.
Days like these can be counted on one hand. And I don’t just mean in terms of the weather, but being in the right state to soak it in and really enjoy it. I think the ladder has become harder with time as work and family life makes the days pass so quickly.
That’s why my New Years resolution will be to take more time, to get out in nature, and find the right state where I can actually hear my own thoughts and enjoy the day. Happiness doesn’t have to be complicated, it’s in the simple things we find it, but in order to do so we have to be open and receptive as well as appreciate these small things.
This place where I’ve taken the photo is a walking path that is really nice. It’s not too long but offers a mix of open landscapes and small paths with lots of vegetation where it feels like you’re almost absorbed by the forest.
When I finished walking the path I came out in the same place where I started. However mentally I felt that so much changed. I guess that’s what reflection really is; a circled path with a 360 degree view where you see everything from different angles and come back centered with a new perspective on things.
What do you do to Freeze time and incapsulate the moment ? Are there any things you want to change for next year ?
The current HiveBuzz proposal will expire in a few days.
