Nature never stops to amaze me. You don’t have to walk far into the forest before your eyes catches something new and exciting. In this case it was a small oak tree where the leaves had refused to fall. Perhaps they thought life was too short and was hoping to live yet another season, not yielding to the course of nature.

Be like the leaves. Refuse to fall to the outlandishness so prevalent in our modern society. I love the photos...what once was so full of vital life force now refusing to give up, existing right next to the bud as yet unbroken promising a new chance at life.

Yep exactly the same here. I have seen oaks hold them all the way through a brutal winter. I like that, kind of like saying "screw you" to winter LOL
