Scouring through my hard drives, I found these shots that I'd forgotten about, I really need to sort all my photos out, but I just have thousands upon thousands so it will be a mammoth task to get them all in order, but it is a job for the future.
I shot these images in 2020, according to the date that it states on my hard drive, but personally I think it was longer than that as I'm sure I had my Sony A7iii back then.
I shot these on a short break in Whitby, equipped with my Canon EOS M3, a camera which I loved but was sadly let down by it's slow auto-focus, I could see the potential in mirrorless cameras from the original Canon EOS-M that I owned.
So as usual, it was busy in Whitby, although nothing like it gets today, I didn't want any people in my shot, I went up the lighthouse that sits on the pier, precariously placed my camera over the edge of the platform, using the strap as a safety harness for the camera, I have to admit, I loved what came out of the camera, using an ND1000, shot in the middle of the afternoon, I adore the surreal look that it gave the shots.
You will never see Whitby this empty usually, and after rediscovering these shots, I really think I need to shoot some more like this, I've got a week off work and I may actually make a trip to Whitby and try and replicate these with my Sony A7iii.
I hope you like these shots.
All the best :-)
Wow! That first one is amazing! Very cool with the curve and the ling exposure.
I find it better than the first two because they have the horizon on the same level as the pier.

Hello @darrenflinders.
Please keep in mind that the #monomad tag is supposed to be used only with black and white photography published in the black and white community. Basically as the entry ticket for our daily challenge with the same name. It's a contest tag, and not a generic one like #blackandwhite #photography #life #nature, etc. 🙂
Sorry for the wrong tag, I'll change it now.

Very nice, minimalist compositions @darrenflinders. The first one reminds me the eternal feeling a sea brings upon to whom appreciates it. And the the other two are spectacular just as the first one, I liked the way you aligned the top of the geometry with the horizon. Which also elevates the idea of our limits to reach to the far. Thanks for sharing.
