Castle Mountain

DSC06339.jpeg

Well it sort of looks like a Castle doesn’t it? Actually this is not Castle Mountain (which is located about 45 away from here), this is officially called “Dolomite Peak”. Apparently this mountain was named after another mountain somewhere in Italy called the Dolomites. As I was doing research on the “Italian Dolomites”, the photos are really incredibly gorgeous actually. Do check it out. Now I want to travel to Italy to see them! I wonder what the hiking is like on that boot. For now I’ll stick with the magnificent Canadian Rockies, as they are much closer than the Italian ones. Photos taken on the hiking trail to Helen Lake, inside Banff National Park, Alberta. Did you get a chance to visit any provincial, state or national parks last summer? Do tell.

So nice, so clean and amazing captures. Them some beautiful mountains for sure. I went to Grand Canyon, Sedona and few other places. Working on some of those shot's but haven't posted any yet.

Sedona have some really interesting views. Looking forward to seeing them. Thanks @shoemanchu.

Lovely colored sandy rocks, makes one think of a Cr450. I went to see Christopher lake this summer.

One of many Great Lakes here in the Canadian west.

Yessss

A very extraordinary place and quite a beautiful view.

Thanks, amazing views they were.

Oh, thank you for bringing your 24-105mm lens! ;)... The close-ups on those eroded mountains are a pleasure, these are generously artistic images and there is even a charming "touch" of abstraction in them... Big applause to you @daveks friend, for your majestic photos of landscapes and for your inexhaustible creativity!... Thank you for sharing!

Beautiful. I’d like to visit the Dolomites too some day. We travelled to Lake Superior Provincial Park this summer. Very beautiful landscape.

Someday I ought to journey down east and check out those parks.

That is one cool looking mountain. It has eroded to the point it does look kind of like a castle. That's nice.

Hiking this trail is kinda like a sandbox for BIG kids!
