Here we go, with another Fall hiking post. Well as you may know by now, Fall is my favourite time of year to get in some trail walking or hiking. If we get warm temperatures, then it is perfection. Cooler temperatures, and it is not quite the same. On this particular day the weather was warm and enjoyable. Now let’s compare this to Summer hiking, which I enjoy — but if too hot, it can be a struggle. Cooler Summer temperatures and this matches my Fall warm weather preferences. I’d say about 22°C to 23°C or so is my “Sweet Spot” for ideal hiking temperatures. How about you, what is your “Sweet Spot”? Thanks for stopping by.

Seeing these two chairs, I imagined sitting there looking at the beautiful view while sipping coffee. Talking about temperature, I'm more comfortable at 27°c, not too hot.
Great idea, love me some good strong fine coffee!!
That nice yellow brick road again! Fall is usually the best time to enjoy hiking depending on the elevation. Some higher places are best mid summer, and for prospecting I like summer once the rivers start to slow down from the spring melt. That's the best time to find the fresh gold washed down stream!
Should have titled this post "yellow brick road"!
Definitely elevation plays into this, the higher the elevation, the better Summer hiking looks! Do you still keep all panned gold, or sell it?
Beautiful photos.
I think my favorite temperatures for hiking are between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius, higher than this exhausts me more than normal, and lower than that I wouldn't have enough will to go for a walk...😅... but I think everything is conditioned by the climate where you live and acclimatize to survive... Also depending on the beauty of the routes we want to take.
The hotter temperatures do exhaust one prematurely, or at least you go through more water to stay hydrated. Thanks for stopping on by.
It's a beautiful hiking trail out of the woods. Here in the Philippines our coolest month is January were temperature fall to 23.6°C and most of us wearing jacket is cold. While during summer, our warmest temperature reaching 33°C - 34°C. My sweet spot for hiking is during rainy season, the sun hiding behind the clouds. Temperature maybe between 26°C to 28°C, just right for me.
I guess in the Philippines, it is more of a humid heat/cold as opposed to a dryer heat/cold up here in Canada. Not sure I could get used to your temperatures! But would be fun to check out someday. Thanks for dropping by.
Yes, it is more on humid heat, the feeling of sticky because sweat doesn't evaporate as well as the difficulty of breathing.
Definitely need to visit the Philippines someday.
Yep,yep my sweet spot is like 23.5 degrees, so just a little warmer than yours
A little warmer eh bos?
[Laughter], yes. If I get brave 23.9 degrees
I dare ya
How about winter? l love hiking in winter - you get to find so many footprints of animals like bears, also walking on snow - the snow makes it nice n cool like below 10 degrees for sure;)
Lovely post - have a wonderful day
Haven't forgotten about Winter, it's just been really cold out lately, and the warmer days have not synced with my schedule, unfortunately.
The sun and the weather looks beautiful. Looks like Fall is also the warmest weather?
Usually July is the hottest, fall we cool down a bit.
Even though, I don't hike, or walk (as a workout) outside, my sweet spot would be around 25 degrees!
Ok, yeah a bit warm, but still very good.
I think 25ish is the perfect temperature spot, not too hot, not too cold
It looks like autumn there rather then end of winter!
Yeah, photos were taken around Oct 1st or so. 25ish is ok, and reasonable.
As cold as it can get without being icy or muddy. Anything above 20 gets hot when ascending a few hundred meters with the Albertan sun blasting you.
Yup, a blasting sun will make a difference!
Btw, any great hikes planned this year?
Nothing yet but looking forward to talking a walk this weekend!
Enjoy.
It looks like the plants are quite yellow and it is a pretty nice color display for the landscape.
Typical falls colours!
Just like allways great and beautiful shots
