Random Friday

It’s Friday, one day before Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year. I am really looking forward to the days getting longer again, these short days ain’t for me. How has your week been? Busy getting ready for the holidays? Maybe you live where Christmas is not celebrated. Do you exchange gifts this time of year? What are you hoping to get or what might you be giving? What is your favourite holiday of the year? Christmas is probably my favourite. Thanks for stopping by and have a good weekend!

It was a long week man. It started with horse meat sashimi and is ending with a million things left to do that will be slowly pushed off onto the next week.

One of the things I love about being in Japan are the holidays. They really love Christmas as well as their own version of New Year's. The spirit of celebrating, working hard and partying harder, still rings true here. It seems like back in California it's just work hard and work even harder. I was working on a post about the Christmas illumination here then some fuck drove a car through a crowd of people in a German Christmas market.

Lots of Christmas shopping done so that's a relief, especially since the bank account is blown. While Christmas is my favorite time of year, it's always financially the worst. It seems no matter how prepared I am, something will always suck my bank accounts dry around this time. Thank God for Kentucky & Christmas cakes.

Hope all is well over there. And Merry Christmas.

I read your post about the horse sashimi and had been talking about it around the table here already actually...never have tried it myself, but never say never. Was trying to imagine what part of the horse you were eating.

Merry Christmas from the Great white north!

I think it was the rump and/or the loin. It wasn't bad at all and not gamey in the slightest. I'm just not interested in eating a majestic animal again. So he invited me to go eat whale next time. Mother#&^I@!

lol, just can't win.

I am also not fond of these short days! However, as we have no control over it, we just need to live our lives!

As Christmas is probably your favourite holiday, for me, Eids (for us, Muslims) are definitely my favorite holidays!

Thanks for sharing wonderful photographs!

You are right! Enjoy your holidays and thanks for stopping by.

That's lots of that terrible white stuff in that first picture. I loved it when I was younger but not anymore! Happy Winter Solstice! The days finally start getting longer again. Nice pictures, I liked the duck and that last picture of that sign. I like it in the monochrome!

Finally we reverse and the days start getting longer, always look forward to the 21st! Thanks for stopping by.

That's a beautiful infrastructure there. I've seen a lot of tall buildings but most of the times, they're completely made with glass and nothing else. Great to see this one built with some wood there.

This was taken at Sunshine village actually. Makes more sense to enforce the structure with wood and steel.

I'm not a big fan of Christmas but it's definitely a great time to share with family and friends. Greetings !

I see, tell me more if you wish? Greetings!

Your shots are always interesting to look at. Merry Christmas friends.

Merry Christmas to you!

That post it's really great
