I wish we could get our own NFT thing going here on Hive. Maybe something other then lensy. Something created by photographers like yourself, @jarvie, @scottshots just to name a few.

Yes; Lensy has no promotion behind it; could have been something but one of those develop and dump scenarios with no promotion. Also the very existence of Lensy is the NFTshowroom guys specifically excluding photographers (IMO at their own expense). I would love to see something but you would also need hive whales buying art also, or link it into somehow you can trade with wETH on BSC. Hive has the best tech but sadly a long way from the ETH scene where there are collectors who pay top dollar.
@intrepidphotos I heard the fees on Foundation are crazy high and they keep like 70% of the money from sales due to fees. Is that true?
Well foundation take 15% on first sale (subsequent sales is 10% to creator and 5% to foundation). I think you are refering to the gas fees to mint on ETH. They have ranged from 10$ to 200$ in the time I have been using it over the past month. This will be the same on any ETH platform. You have to wait until there is a lul in gas prices to get best value. Its not a platform for minting low cost material. If your listing however for 2ETH then the gas fees are negligible.
Isn't that what nftshowroom is? I'm still just learning about NFTs so I could be wrong.
NFT Showroom has shunted photography across to Lensy.io
Oh so instead of nftshowroom it's all on Lensy?
Yes Lensy.io is like a clone of NFTShowroom.com ; so I guess they expect you to use it instead. But no one is using it.
Gotcha, As I said I'm still learning about NFTs but I have a good amount of past photography that I would like to try to sell as NFTs. Just don't know where a good place to start would be. Any recommendations for a complete beginner?
All the action is on twitter; so head over there would be my first recommendation.
If you DM me on twitter; I can help.
@intrepidphotos that's great to hear that you've had some nft sales. I tried rarible and lensy.io but no sales for me. It fell off my radar. But if @nftshowroom started allowing photography or someone unlike me started up something better on HIVE, I would try again. I say unlike me because I do not have the skills to start something like that. I'm just a button pusher, lol. Thanks for thinking of me though. Cheers!
