Often times, the best part of a hike is the journey itself. Especially the photo ops. On this particular day we climbed the “Bear Hump” in Waterton Park, Alberta. Apparently there was a forest fire that ripped through here in 2017 or so, and took down a lot of trees in its path. Seeing as this was my first time in the area, I did not have the pleasure of seeing this in its pre-forest fire state. A shame. That being said, there is still a certain unique beauty that this hiking area has. A cool bird’s eye view of the Prince of Wales hotel down below too, made this hike worthwhile and then some! Tell me what you have been up to this Summer in the comments below.

It's a beautiful place, and it's unfortunate that such a fire could have happened, it still looks like a great place and the area seems to have recovered nicely
It's always amazing to see how the forest recovers after a fire, plants growing everywhere and without doubt some small trees slowly growing. Beautiful shots and a great hike it looks like. That tree at the end is pretty cool, can see why you captured that image. What a beautiful place!

Yes, the area is on the mend. It has a different sort of beauty. Thanks.

A truly memorable experience it was. Sure glad we went, and most definitely will be going back sometime in the future. Thanks.
Are the first two photos results of forest fire. If so really sad. But the place still looks beautiful.
Yes, still a gorgeous area though. Thanks for stopping by.
Bird's eye view of the Prince of Wales hotel is pretty cool brother. Forest fires definitely change landscapes.
It was pretty awesome. If only we avoid the fires..
Looks cool there. We have way over 30 degrees Celsius in here. I am about to hit the pool for the first time this year.
Enjoy the cool water!
I did. Posted about it a few hours ago
