Little Africa in Rio de Janeiro - Brazil

Hi, I started using Hive a few days ago. This is my first post here. My name is Deilson Silva, I have a degree in History and Education and I'm from Rio de Janeiro. In this post, I would like to talk about the Little Africa in Rio.
Little Africa, located in the port region of Rio de Janeiro, is an important symbol of Afro-Brazilian culture and historical resistance. With sites such as Cais do Valongo, the largest landing point for enslaved Africans in Brazil, and Pedra do Sal, the birthplace of samba and a centre of Afro-Brazilian traditions, the area preserves the memory of one of the most painful chapters in our history. The Circuito dos Pretos Novos is a historical route that links these points and recovers the history of the Africans who came to Brazil as slaves, keeping their culture and identity alive. The route also includes the Pretos Novos Cemetery, where many of these Africans were buried without identification after landing, victims of brutal exploitation. These places are fundamental to the appreciation of the black heritage, allowing education and reflection on the impact of slavery and the struggle for equality to this day.
