They are magical
So I think hummingbirds are probably my favorite birds to photograph. They are such special little birds and have a magical essence to them. They are like real life fairies.
I only have one hummingbird feeder at the moment, but I want to get at least three more. There is something so special about having these little birds buzzing around my yard.
I took all these pictures with my Canon 5D Mark IV camera body with my Sigma 70-200mm lens.
The lens is perfect for this type of stuff because I can open the aperture to f/2.8 and it lets in so much light. I did bump up the ISO to 320 for these shots so that I can have a shutter speed of 1/8000th of a second.
That super fast shutter speed is fast enough to stop their wings. 1/8000th of a second is the fastest shutter speed my camera can do. It would be cool to go even faster, but I think that most cameras top out at that shutter speed.
It will be pretty cool to get some more feeders so I can get a bunch of different angles of them drinking. I am glad that they like the nectar that I made for them.
These are such special little animals and I am glad that I have the opportunity to get pictures of them. I hope that you enjoyed them.
These are really nice hummingbird photographs man.
Indeed. Anyone can click a nice camera, but to have an in depth comprehension of the functions is what it takes to produce photographs like the one's above. That an an artistic eye for the imagery you aim to create.
You're one of the best photographers out there bro, keep snappin' ;)
Thanks man. I really appreciate the compliment. It will be really cool when I have more feeders and there are hummingbirds all over.
This is awesome
Get out of here scammer
I died laughing.
Ya, what a lazy ass scammer
Lazy with a touch of stupid.
Wow! Thanks for sharing this adorable content, you really had a wonderful pictures of those hummingbirds.
Thanks man. It was fun to take these pictures.
Whoa! those are excellent shots. Do you reckon the lens will also be good for motogp shots, at least for a hobbyist?
Ya, this lens would be awesome for MotoGP. It has a really wide aperture so it can achieve some fast shutter speeds.
These are excellent photos, my friend. I especially love the last 2. I can tell a lot of work went into them. How long did it take you to take them?
Thanks man. I think I stayed out there for about 30 minutes taking pictures. I would get one or two shots and then they would fly away so I had to wait for them to come back and get a few more.
They are awesome little birds. I'm amazed at how crisp your images are considering how fast they flap their wings, I'm not surprised you had to max out the shutter speed.
You definitely need more nectar feeders, can't imagine anything cooler than having these little creatures buzzing around all day.
It really is like having a bunch of fairies flying around in the yard. It is so cool.
They are so magical! And I think by now they should know if they visit this feeder, they will know there's a lens facing them; it's like they know you are capturing with those elegant poses haha.
They are getting more used to me and my camera. Once I get a few more feeders, it will be really cool to get shots from all different angles.
I so wish that we had hummingbirds over here, but our little sunbirds are very similar. Also my favorites and we now have a new Malachite baby in a nest in nature.
They are magical little birds.
So true and you are lucky to have them. Great pics in your post.
!LOL
Wow you got very well their speedy wings! Its been a while that i dont see them , since i moved to canada lol
Gotta have a fast shutter speed to get their wings. It's weird they dont have them where you are in Canada. Maybe you just need to get a few feeders and see if they show up.
yeah maybe I could try =)
Definitely something worth encouraging around your place for the pleasure and the photo-opportunities. I’m from a different part of the world so I don’t know hummingbirds at all - do you know what species these are?
I have no idea about the different species of hummingbird. That would be fun to research and see how I can get a variety of them.
Yes, in my experience the more you learn about them the better they get!
How near can do you have to be to take these shots? Would being too close scare away the humming birds or they are pretty social?
My lens can get pretty close. I wish I could get closer, but they are pretty skittish and get scared easily. They are starting to get used to me though, so hopefully one day I can be really close to them.
I hope so too. I think all it needs is time and consistency until the hummingbirds get comfortable. Looking forward to your next uploads.
That's a cool looking hummingbird feeder and the shots look stunning. You were even able to capture the wing detail without the blur.
Thanks. They are fast little birds so you gotta use a fast shutter speed.
A pretty good picture of a bird in flight.
Thanks man
You're welcome
Wow what a nice job👍👍
Thank you
The birds actually look very beautiful
We all know that birds are beautiful creatures
I love them!
They are super cool.
This bird is so beautiful that whenever I see it, it seems like a moth flying in the air that wants to capture the whole world in its swift wings.
We have hummingbird moths here too. They are super weird though.
I'm speechless. I want this huge printed on my walls omg, beautiful work
I agree! There was once a hummingbird nest under my neighbors balcony, and the baby looked like a cartoon! It was so cool to see. I really wish i had taken pics. I think my wife did, but its on a phone she doesn't use no more. At least we think. Hopefully we can find them, or get to see another nest in the future.
In truth these pictures are very special and very beautiful because such pictures are not easily taken by human beings birds fly or move around I like it very much and the result of your camera is also very good.
I love hummingbirds. I feel extra special because my name is Anna and there is a hummingbird just for me.
I love this pictures
