When I was in Buenos Aires in January this year, I stayed in the district of Palermo. My plan was to visit one of the parks close by. Buenos Aires does have many green lungs worth visiting to get a break from the trafic and sightseeing. One of these tranquil green places is the Jardín Japonés or the Japanese Garden. I did read somewhere that it's the largest Japanese Garden outside Japan. It is complete with everything a traditional zen garden shall have in order to create harmony. There are lots of different species of trees and plants, pond with lots of carps, sculptures, bridge, lanterns ( in stone). There is also a restaurant and a shop where the sell plants.
The park is located in the district of Palermo in the corner of another park. The Parque Tres de Febrero. This area in Palermo is the home of several parks. The area is huge, so we had to make a choice about which park we wanted to visit. This garden was our choice. Because we arrived early and as soon as the park opened, there were not too many people at the same time as us. After paying the admission ticket and entered through the gate, we immediately noticed the beauty and tranquility within the place. Along the path you can enjoy plants and trees. If you want to know the name, just look at the sign besides the tree. They all have a sign with the name on it.
The way it is designed with plants and ponds does make you feel you are in Japan. But you are in Buenos Aires. The lagoon is attractive and very decorative with the red bridge and gangways that makes you able to cross the pond. In the pond you will find all these carps. They seems very tame, as they will come to the surface if you stop to look at them.
This park was created by the Japanese in 1967 when the Argentinean government lent this land to them. Now the both local residents and visitors can enjoy the garden. Later on the tea house and restaurant was constructed. There is also a Cultural Foudation, but I am not sure how much they are involved in arrangements in the park.
Before we left, we sat down at the outdoor restaurant. They sell excellent sushi and Japanese tea. From here we could enjoy the view and little by little see more and more people arriving. To enter the Japanese Garden and spend some hours here, was like entering another world. A great contrast to buildings surrounding the park. The garden is beautiful and an absolute relaxing place to take a break to get a pleasant distraction from the noice in the city.

What a beautiful and spacious place to explore. And yeah, we can really feel it's tranquility in these lovely photos that you shared.
Thanks :) Especially in the beginning there were not too many people :)
Yeah, I noticed only one photo with a bit of a crowd. Really nice 🥰
Thst was when we were ready to leave. Many more people had arrived.
Wow these photos are so nice and beautiful thanks for sharing.
Thanks :)
Your welcome
It is like a piece of Japan in Argentina, with an environment well harmonized with nature.
It did feel like a little piece of Japan :)
Hi @digi-me; a really beautiful place to walk around. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Happy to share 🙂
Seeing your photos brought back a lot of memories, I was there a few years ago, around 2014. That place is beautiful, the green lung of Buenos Aires, ideal to disconnect from the noise and the fast pace of the city. Seeing your captures I think I didn't get to go all over the Japanese garden, that time I couldn't take my own pictures, I didn't have a camera or phone, so I had to settle for those of my friends.
It's a lovely place. I was in Buenos Aires 4 years ago, but didn't go to any of the parks. I am glad I did this time :)
Yes, It's beautiful, and there's a lot of cultural activities every month👌
You had luck that you can took lovely pictures without a lot of people walking around jaja, thanks for posting about this magical garden ❤
Buenos Aires was really hot in January.... It was great with a break in this beautiful garden. We were there 10 minutes before it opened, so being among the first people to enter, it felt like having it all to our selves. I should have checked out the cultural activities.. We were there for 6 days..
oh yes, we feel all the climates with passion, (and humidity) below zero in winter, more than 40° in summer, without beach and without snow, that explains everything, hahaha I hope you have been able to enjoy despite how hostile it may be the weather, it is better to live at night in this season, I am surprised that you have chosen this destination for vacation, was it for something special?
It was nice to arrive Buenos Aires to summer and get away from winter in Norway...We did enjoy very much. I did't have any other reason to visit Argentina, than I like the country. Buenos Aires is a city I really like. I have been here before. It's a good starting and finishing point (KLM to Europe) when travelling i Argentina. I stayed one month and went to other places in Argentina and Uruguay. Last time I combined Argentina with Chile.
That's a good reason, 😊 💫
I love South-America and especially Argentina :)
Yay! 🤗

@digi-me it's worth your while reading the section about AI generated content as well. Your account is littered with AI generated garbage which I have been downvoting for obvious reasons. Having multiple users sharing one single account is the most stupid thing I have ever seen on Hive, and no effort content will ultimate cause the demise of the whole account
You keep stalking me lol, Sverre can't even use a computer wery well, I highly doubt he is using an AI bot. It seems that you have got stuck in a rut, but you are entitled to think what you want as I am. Again, Its better in life to focus on things you like, dont waste your energy on being annoyed at people you don't like.
