Architecture Photography in Black and White [ENG/ESP]

DSC_0872.jpg

Architectural photography is really captivating for those who admire structures, old and classic buildings as well as modern ones. If we apply to these photos the absence of colors, I think they look more attractive, so that we can appreciate much more details, reliefs and offers us the opportunity to have another view on these great buildings that occupy our cities.

A few days ago I was in the neighborhood of San Nicolas in the city of Buenos Aires, specifically around the Plaza Lavalle and decided to take a few minutes to capture these buildings in black and white. First of all we have the Domingo Funes passage, I don't remember if I had already shared something of this but it's great to be able to portray it. A French style building that has been preserved very well over the years, it is an icon of the city.

Most of the buildings that I share with you in this post were built at the beginning of the last century, not before 1910, I think it is in that first decade. For example, this second building was originally called Mirador Massue, although now it is called Edificio Tribunal Plaza. In its beginnings it was a whole building, but with the passing of time it has had many remodelings to finally be only this tower, which has as uses business offices.

I decided to take some pictures where the first one shows the contrast between this classic tower with the additional modern glass building, you can see how the dome is reflected in these glasses also in combination with part of the trees of the Plaza Lavalle. I also wanted to take some more close up pictures so you can better appreciate its design, the balconies, reliefs and texture of the dome.

To finish I share with you a series of random photos that have to do with this photographic genre but focused more on photography. They are also very important buildings built during the last century and among them is the majestic building of the courts.... well a small framing to show only details really (it is the third photo).

While in the first one, I focus on one of the domes of some building in this area that I don't know, the other buildings I selected at random also just looking for good framing and interesting photos.

I love it all! I love how you are able to find and select these old buildings with fascinating architecture. Look at those balconies! 😍

Opting for black and white is the best thing to do when it comes to architecture in my opinion. Finding a combination of new and old is also interesting.

Thanks for these wonderful photos my dear friend and for the tag as well. keep up the good work and looking forward to your next photo series 🤗😘

Have a nice day and make the most of it 😉

Thanks my dear.

I think the same as you, black and white is definitely the most attractive version for architecture in most cases.

I like that we are connecting naturally in this sense and I love how we share it and have fun, together with the feedback in relation to photography.

Thanks for being always here, so kind of you 🥰😘

After all, there is a special grace in black-and-white photographs of buildings. Especially made on a sunny day, the play of set and shadows is wonderful.

black and white is special, I think! Perhaps because photography began with the lack of colors, I also feel that images can be appreciated more deeply like this. Thanks so much for stopping by :)

Wonderful shots of lovely old buildings from Buenos Aires. I like the black and white not only to emphasize the architecture but also to give the shots a feel of history. The contrast between history and modernity in the photos with the glass tower is excellent 👍

I really liked that contrast, many people don't realize it.

I also love black and white photography for that reason, you can smell a certain old atmosphere even if there is none, the details stand out more and it can be much more emotional, even when it's just buildings.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting my friend. Have a nice day :)
