I like the balance in this first photo, also the people to the right in the background. If you look closely you can see the woman pointing.

Nothing makes a garden look Japanese like a Matsu plant. They have a characteristic of having pin like leaves and are usually trimmed by a professional to look even more artistic.

The Bonsai Matsu plant ( a mini version of the Matsu) is one of the most sort after by plant lovers worldwide. I’m still waiting for the universe to bring one my way.

The rocks and and mini waterfall also give that Japanese garden feel. It also got me thinking, A half and half garden for a yard. Half tropical, half Japanese style? What do you think? It could work?

This is a smaller version of the Matsu tree I snapped, not as fancy looking as the first pic. In the background to the left you can see the tree in the first pic.

And below is one of my twins relaxing on a rock beside the Matsu tree. 😂

And here is that beauty of a tree from a different angle. I like the shade hut in the background, you can tell the garden designer 👩‍🎨 went for simplicity but the type anyone can appreciate.

Very cool, the resemblance to a bonsai tree is quite obvious. Okay, I understand that the pruner or trimmer is responsible for giving the tree this bonsai look, but that makes me wonder what these trees would like if not trimmed or pruned.

Would they just grow like a Christmas tree, wide at the bottom and narrowing at the top? Curious....

Good question, I mostly see the dolled up. But from what I remember they basically look the same but just a bit rough around the edges. Usually see them in rich old school homes. Young folk ain't got time or yard space for them.

Yeah on the first one there are more full leaves. I love trees that give enough shade and if you have enough in your garden it'll also be less hot out. I do appreciate the work and dedication gardeners put into keeping their plants and trees looking like an art piece.

You know the funny thing is, gardeners here Have licenses, so they are super paid. In the Caribbean a lot of people just become gardeners 😂!

Bwoi I miss a yaad with some mango tree shades.

Yes... Ok our yard is a bit too small for mango trees but know what you mean.

About those licenses; I take it those "gardeners" are more like landscapers?

Hi friend @dmilliz, I have never seen this species live, I have read that Matsu plants are useful to make natural decoration, that woody trunk gives it a majestic touch. Thanks for socializing these beautiful pictures. Excuse me, are you a botanist?

🖖🏿 greetings! Yes they make the perfect natural decoration especially the Bonsai version.

Haha no no not a botanist but I appreciate nature and saw this plant and thought it would make for good photography! I also did a little research, the truth is I didn't even know the name of the plant before this post 😂, the beauty of blogging.

I am a botanist and believe me the captures look great, best regards.

Yes I realized , I checked your profile. It’s good that someone who appreciates this kind of content found it. Thanks man.

Absolutely Beautiful!
And I probably will get a bonsai tree this year,
since I'm moving!
New place, new room!
You have a Great Upcoming Week!
👍🏼🌄☺️🌄👍🏼

They are one of the few plants I actually want to buy. Something about them. I hope you have a smooth move Les, thanks dude and may the week bring some cool surprises. ⭐️👏

Thank You So Much!
Wishing You the same!

At first, I thought it's bonsai then realize it's a Matsu tree, quite interesting and beautiful to look at I would say. Bonsai is pretty expensive though...I like the half tropical and half Japanese garden theme but I would prefer a Japanese theme garden with a little bit of tropical touch...Hmm probably, will be hard to maintain :P that fusion garden...
