Prairie Skies

Sometimes I reminisce of roads trips in my childhood. I, am only child, locked away in the backseat, the window an ever present moving panoramic show. I never knew how far we had travelled from home but I did know when we left the comfort of the prairies solely by the sky.

It’s been 2 years since I’ve been back to the prairies. Perhaps part of me is nostalgic for harvest time; golden wheat fields, rows of hay bales and lines of sunflowers with heavy drooping blooms.

Surprisingly the skies here in paradise while gazing over the vast expanse of the Caribbean Sea, remind me of those prairie skies. In fact so much so, it felt like home right away.

One day my journeys will find me back there but until then, I’m content.
