The flowers of paradise

My phone has a feature that plucks pictures from my photo gallery and shows me a chosen few. I love it because I’m reminded of memories, ideas I have since forgotten and it also shows me all the beautiful
pictures I have taken over the years. This collection is the gorgeous flowers in this place I now call home. Though I won’t discount my longing to spend a season back home and walk among the cherry blossoms, lilac bushes, and sunflower fields.

What an unusual flower in the last photo!

Yes,it’s a succulent! It’s called the starfish or carrion flower. It emits a foul rotting meat smell and attracts flys as pollinators!
