Hello Pgotography Lovers!!
Today’s photo series captures an era that has now faded away, leaving behind powerful stories of people and objects from the past. These particular cars stood at the entrance of a village for nearly 30 years. I never managed to learn why they were placed there in the first place. Today, they are gone. The village is called Chortata, nestled in the mountainous region of Lefkada.
It is also the home of Mrs. Lambro, who married into Chortata. As she told me, her husband opened a café in her honor because she always loved hosting and taking care of people. And that’s exactly what she did. When I was young, during our photography trips through the mountains, we would always stop by Mrs. Lambro’s café to hear yet another one of her stories.
Last summer was the last time I saw her and spoke to her. The café is now closed, and Mrs. Lambro has moved to Athens to be with her children, who care for her. Elderly people, full of beauty, kindness, and respect for humanity, are slowly disappearing. And with them, their stories fade away too. Let’s make sure we preserve them before it’s too late.
