Our hiking group starting their way back down the trail after a picnic lunch and a swim under beautiful Mo'oula Falls.
There are many different sides to the Hawaiian Islands. A lot of people are surprised when they see the dry sides of islands. Other than resort areas with fancy landscaping, the dry areas can be semi-desert arid climates. However, for most people, the visions of Hawaii are more like these pictures. Today we hiked deep into a rainforest on the island of Molokai. This is a very seldom visited island, so I wasn't surprised to have this beautiful waterfall all to ourselves. We sat and watched the two tiered falls, had a picnic lunch, and went for a refreshing dip. And the hike through the valley was pretty photogenic as well. Check it out!
Hiking through some massive elephant ear plants, with so many shades of green ahead.
I hiked way out on a ridgeline to get this shot. Interesting succulent with some of the famous North Shore cliffs of Molokai in the background.
A mother and daughter enjoy a dip in a secluded waterfall pool here on the island of Molokai.
Wasting no time, Sarah jumped right into the waterfall pool and went for a refreshing dip.
Secluded waterfall, way in the back of Halawa Valley on Molokai Island here in Hawaii.
The trail through the valley to the waterfall is full of obstacles like this.
What wonderful beautiful photos!
It was such a great adventure! Oh, I miss the old days hiking and climbing mountains to witness wonderful waterfalls. Reading and seeing this makes me want to grab my hiking essentials and equipment and go on a nature trip like this!
