Nature And Architecture

Today I'm going to show you a mix of photos again, that have not been posted yet. There may not be any connection between them, but who cares. Photos are photos, right?

Nature And Architecture.jpg

Let's start with a premiere as I've never posted a frog photo before.

Yesterday I saw a movie in which the woman said she was told by her mother, "you have to kiss a lot of frogs, till you find a real prince". Well, this is a proper frog that I photographed in my dad's garden. I totally would have stepped on it as his color was almost similar to the dirt surrounding him, but my dad knows his garden better and showed him to me. So I immediately took out my phone, set my camera to macro and started getting closer to him.

While being careful not to get too close to him, I took a bunch of photos, most of them useless honestly, but these two are not so bad. My biggest fear was he would jump on me and although I'm not the scared type, I would have screamed for sure. 🐸 Maybe one day I'll have the chance to take some decent photos, but that day won't be this year.

Next, here's a still life, that caught my attention because of its simplicity. The pots don't look so nice as are of different size and color, but this shows nothing was staged. That brick wall looks amazing though, I could have set up a nice flower stand there, if it were mine.

Next, an orthodox cathedral, that has two towers and I think looks better in black and white as it helps you focus more on the details. From architectural point of view, this building is amazing, although I have never seen how it looks from the inside.

This photo is sitting in my folder since august and now I'm sharing it with you. Although the petals have some raindrops, I focused on the pollen as it's more interesting. But looking at the photo, with a little more patience and light, maybe I could have taken some raindrop photos of the petals as well. Lesson learned.

Today I finally did a search to see what's the flowers name. Turns out the common name is rose of Sharon and the botanical name is Hibiscus syriacus.

Now comes the pine, that I love so much. Last year I started to observe how this type of pine is starting to grow new branches each autumn. This is how it starts.

20221012_112950a.jpg

Those light brown things that look like buds are going to be the branches. The other thing is the pine cone. Mother nature's creation.

This is one year of growth and I love it. Looking at the photos I can smell the pine. I wanted to buy some pine oil and could not get it anywhere. I was told it's not available yet. 😳 The yet at the end made me raise my eyebrow as what does yet mean? Is pine oil exclusively for Christmas? This is crazy.

Last, some moss, that is growing now nicely as the drought is over, with the recent rain there's plenty of moisture for them to grow.

Soooo, this is my photo parade for today. Which one is your favorite?

I like the photo of the frog, there is definitely nothing like the colors that nature gives us. I could kiss that frog, maybe he'll turn into a green-eyed prince. 😅😅😅

Frog is really the best 😂 please don’t kiss the frog, he has a girlfriend 😂😂

I saw him first but someone kissed him first. I must be more daring next time. 🤭🤭🤭

You can do it 💪😂😂

Lol, I see there's an auction already for the frog 🤣

Yeah, he is beautiful, look at him posing 😂

Good luck with that, you can have the frog 😂

My favorite is definitely the second photo of the frog and the penultimate photo. Because pine is my favorite of all tree scents. It has a pungent and refreshing, relaxing smell. Especially after it rains, it gives off an incredible scent.

Frogs... not my fav animals :D
They used to hide in a corner of the entrance gate and scare me when I open it 😬
The photo with the church is cool. It seems as if the house would be attached to the church :)

Looks like not many people like frogs.

The house is not attached, but indeed looks like that because of the angle, it's a cheat 😄

Great photos!! that frog is massive! i had never seen one that big in real life

It's not that big, just looks big because it's a macro photo.

Lovely pictures! Frog is my favourite of them all, despite what you said about its quality. It’s a very unusual frog too, it has some nice markings.

My pine tree in the pot is not doing well this year. I moved it into move exposed position, so maybe it will get more rainwater there. Hope it works

I forgot to mention that I love the eye of the frog, stands out.

Sorry to hear about your pine tree. I've never had one in a pot as I know it grows huge and I only have a balcony. I hope yours gets better.

It’s a nice find that frog. I don’t get to see these often, let alone take a picture, hence why I enjoyed it more ☺️

I bought this pine tree already in a pot and I repotted it into bigger one, hoping to have a nice tree to bring home for Christmas, then back in the garden after Christmas, instead of throwing it away or buying fake one. I love the pine smell in my house around December 😍

That was a good idea and I would have done it myself, but not in an apartment. Maybe one day when I'll have a house 😇 Or I can move to the Alps and have all the pines of the world 😂

To the alps! 😅 I’m sure there are pine forests somewhere closer too 😉

Nope, I want the Alps 😇

Then Alls it is! I’m sure you’ll find the way 💙

"you have to kiss a lot of frogs, till you find a real prince". Well, this is a proper frog that I photographed

I couldn't stop laughing at this... I mean, why did you had to talk about that sentence from the movie and then show us a real frog 😂

I feel like you're trying to show the ladies what a human guy would look like if he was a frog... Don't mind my silly imagination 😁

These are amazing photos, good you shared them even though they didn't relate... That black and white cathedral photo is superb 👍

I mean, why did you had to talk about that sentence from the movie and then show us a real frog 😂

To help your imagination 😂
And I'm glad you like the black and white.

Haha it's really funny

Taking a macro shot is not as easy as one would think. I have tried a couple of times and gave up as I could not hold the camera steady. The frog looks quite intimidating. I don't know why but every time I see a colorful frog my mind always tells me to stay away as the frog might be poisonous. The b/w cathedral picture pops out from the collection! 👍

You are right, macro is not easy as any small move is picked up by the camera and can ruin the photo.

The black and white is my favorite too.

Oh well what can I say , you really thought this thoroughly man , architecture and nature going side by side

Seems like it.

You made me smile when you said you were not a fearing type but if the 🐸 frog's jumb on Yi, you will scream 🤣🤣🤣. You pictures looks so amazing

Thank you!

I love your pictures. Thanks for sharing the links

My pleasure and I'm glad to hear that.

Erika the photos are very good, I tell you that I have seen frogs and toads of all sizes, and colors, banana frogs the coqui of Puerto Rico in short many but this with those colors jams I had seen him even when he has the green of the banana frog I had not seen him with those crimson spots great nature and also jump and scream if it falls on me hahahahahah.

The pine cones are not available here where I live, but about 5 hours down the road there is a huge crop of pine trees to make paper, I think I'm going to go for a ride to get that oil as tasty as it smells of pine and Christmas.

I prepare with lace tulle bags with cloves, cinnamon sticks, star anise, and some guayabita with a cotton ball with pine oil I tie them with a Christmas ribbon and place them in my home the smell of Christmas and family is very rich and relaxing because it smells like home. Put it in your house and let me know how it smells!!!!

The guayabita I think in Mexico they call it allspice and the smell is incredible.

Thank you! I'm glad you can find some pine oil over there, to remind you of Christmas. Enjoy!

Those photos are perfectly captured. Photos are rare also. Haven't seen those in real life.

In that case I'm glad I could show you something you haven't seen.

Is the title of the movie you are watching is Toad prince😅

The first time I saw a toad like,

If I was near the frog, I would definitely kiss it. But I don't have a frog like that in aceh

I love how you call them your photo parade!😉😍
That's one big bull frog dear. All your photos are beautiful and colorful and just like a parade, I did enjoy looking at all the interesting guest of honors!😍🤩🥰

It is a parade in a sense but it's also exaggeration and funny. 😃

The frog may not be as big as it seems as it's a macro photo, but it is not a miniature either :)

I love this so much, i really got attracted to the frog, am glad to see that so much amazing stuff are happening on the hive platform
