scruffy hairballs running amuck
smiles and stinky breaths
kisses drooling with joy
their eyes hide the pleasure
of just another scratch and pet
The dogs came out of nowhere. That is how it felt. I didn't even see where they hid, but as soon as we opened our doors, there they were and demanding pets and scratches!
It was a rather sweet moment, as we did not know about these dogs.
We sat outside on the porch, and these dogs came to lay next to us. They adopted us as their owners, and we had these dogs for ourselves for a while. We gave them unlimited pets and scratches, even though they were smelly outside dogs.
The one dog smiled constantly, and as soon as we closed the door, it scratched the door, looking for more scratches.
How could we not give them what they wanted?
But as we pet them, I also took the opportunity to take some photographs of them! An impromptu photoshoot of these dogs.
Please enjoy these photographs!
The dog on the right demanded the most scratches and pettings. How could we not give it to him?
Usually, I would not really take these kind of photographs, but the opportunity presented itself and I tried to focus my old manual lens on these busy bodies, running to-and-fro. I managed to land some solid photographs, in focus that is.
The moment was beautiful, as my fiance and I remembered our own dogs, who were already in dog-heaven. Now, we enjoyed the short moment, thinking back to the days when we had our own dogs.
But the moment, like most others, was fleeting, and as soon as it ended, my fiance and I both looked at each other, and we knew we would get some of our own when we settle down...
Alas, these were some of the most friendly dogs, each one demanding their share of attention.
We were more than willing to give them this!
I hope that you have a friend home who you can also give attention, love, scratches, and pets!
For now, happy photographing and keep well.
All of the musings and writings are my own, albeit inspired this innate desire to pet some dogs! The photographs are my own, taken with my Nikon D300 and 50mm Nikkor lens.
Lovely dogs
Beautiful. And sad. They all are looking for a home, and someone to love them.
There's dogs everywhere here. Happy little buggers. We were sitting with a view of the beach the other day and watched them all swimming and barking and running and living their best life. 🐕🐕
