RE: An old-fashioned question

in Photography Lovers2 years ago

We cannot dictate weather; every year in my country South Africa the week before spring day (1st of September here) is beautiful and hot, almost summer like, but the actual spring day is wet and cold. So funny.

Stunning photographs, my friend. These flowers are surely a feast for the eyes.

I love that comment, the idea of Photography as Objective. I think it was discussed in a book by Susan Sontag, Regarding the pain of others, or something in that line, in which she discussed this topic. We merely see what the photographer wants us to see.

Thanks for sharing! Keep well.

Haha yes, that's what we call "Murphy's law", isn't it?

the idea of Photography as Objective

Of course, this is a very old discussion and many essays have been written on the subject. I haven't read Sontag's book but I know roughly her arguments. It is something that is always in the back of my mind, even from my days at the school of photography!

Thank you very much for stopping by!

Cheers.

Oh I am glad that I am at least making sense! I stumbled upon my old notes yesterday and saw the one quote from that book about framing. It is all about what happens in the frame, everything outside of the frame is unseen. Something in that line on thought.

Thanks for the reply! Cheers, and have an awesome week.
