Askoli village is the last human settlement on the side of the highest peak of Pakistan. After this village located at an altitude of 3000 meters, the high peaks of the Karakoram begin, on which life is impossible and the k2 the second highest mountain is in this villege

.For housing, people here build two-story wooden houses with very low roofs to keep the houses warm in winter. As soon as it starts snowing in winter, these people move to the basements built in the courtyards of the houses and spend the next four months in these basements.
These four months of living in the cellars are the most difficult phase of life for these people. During this time, they subsist on dry grain and yak milk, who spend four months with them in this small basement

For the rest of the year, all the patients in the village are at the mercy of a compounder.A summer day prepares for winter. There is clothing, grain, and both are gathered together to cook and keep the house warm—a large number of dolls relate to the difference. Also the beautiful building of the ancient building of Imambargah.Food and other essentials for the locals are brought by jeep from Skrudu town twice a week which is away from 6hour from this villege. . Climbing Tou and other peaks by carrying the equipment of mountaineers from far away is the livelihood of seventy percent of the people of this village. Poverty, poverty and harsh climatic conditions make the inhabitants of this place old before their time.The people of this village depend on mountaineers and adventurers for their livelihood. Every year hundreds of adventurers come here armed with valuable equipment. It is customary here that whether these adventurers and mountaineers return successfully or fail, they leave their belongings there.
Local people use this expensive equipment themselves or sell it in the markets of Skardu. Askoli people are more familiar with English language than Urdu.
