Do you like sailing?
I don't!
But I do like taking pictures of sailing boats even when they are standing still at the port. So today I went for a stroll at the marina, to see how many boats are still there. During the summer there are dozens of them but now I wasn't expecting to see many. I was right.
But the weather was great, the sun was shining and I had plenty of room to try out different camera angles. It looked like a promising photo walk :)
In high season there is absolutely no free space between the boats, they form a big, solid wall, across the pier. But today I had the luxury to be able to see the view behind them. The calm sea, the mountains in the back and the light blue sky decorated with charming white clouds!
Actually there were only three sailing boats and they were all anchored one next to the other. But I had my share of opportunities for a few pictures. I love the reflections of the masts on the sea as they are transformed on the water wrinkles.
That dragon flag has seen better days but it is still cute!
I am always impressed by the excellent quality of the wood on the sailing boats. It is truly admirable how they are preserved in such hard conditions. I am sure that the people that own them make sure to be maintained regularly but still, the sea salt and the sun are great for a few hours but can be ruthless in long term.
After a while I reached the passenger boats, the ones that are meant to transfer people in small excursions. Not so glamorous as the yachts at the start of the walk or so beautiful as the sailboats but they do have their charm too!
Last but not least I found the boats of the port authority resting peacefully until their next assignment :)
I passed them too, I took one last look behind and I returned home to edit the pictures of the day!

Amazing photos 😍
Thanks a lot :)
The photos are beautiful, I really liked the one where you can see the mountains behind and the wind system. Others that really captivated my attention were the ones of the reflections in the water.
Hey, that dragon flag is cool, but I think it's had a few battles already.
Nice post. 😋
Thank you very much, I am glad you liked them! I like the one with the mountains behind too. It is quite different from the rest, giving another perspective :)

Love the photos of a peaceful marina with fabulous boats just moored and quiet. Great subject which you have handled beautifully. While I love all the boat pics the one which intrigued me, and which would be great as pic for a story like Kidnapped, or Treasure island, is of the gangway to the back of a boat () Great pics!!!
Thanks again :)
