Back and forth

Untitled-1.jpg

I have told you, the previous days, that it has started to smell like spring time around here and I wasn't lying but March is a tricky month. There is a old saying in Greek (Μάρτης, γδάρτης και κακός παλουκοκάφτης) that can be translated, very roughly, like: March, slaughterer and villain stake-burner, referring to the changeable and often unpredictable weather that can make you burn every piece of wood, even stakes or other useful sticks since the firewood are usually over by that time.

As you can see in the pictures it is not that we are covered in snow but the peaks of our mountains are and the temperature is quite lower than what I consider pleasant! So although I was planning to spend my Sunday at home, I went to the farm to bring some extra firewood, to be sure that we'll not be in short the next days.

Apart from the cold, it was a beautiful sunny day and I wasn't planning to do much work, so I took my camera with me. And when I made a few steps in the olive grove I was so glad that I did!
I have told you that I like almond trees and I love their white blossom. But I haven't told you that a have a soft spot for the ones with pink blossom! Their almonds are small and bitter but this colour just makes my day :)

Oh how I love those almond blossoms. We're just at the end of our tree bearing fruit. Except we didn't have a single almond. The wind blew all the blossoms off the tree in Spring last year. So sad. Your snow tipped mountains are beautiful. What I love most about winter is those scenes

Usually we enjoy the blossom but not the almonds, too :)
We'll see how it goes this year!
Yes those snowed mountains are lovely. We haven't seen them like that for 4 years and that's the second snow for this winter!

Oh wow! I assumed that is what your winter's looked like. Our winter is pretty much the same. Mostly a scattering of snow on the mountains

wow beautiful shots
