We arrived at Vytina just after noon. It was last Tuesday and there were not many visitors in the village. Things are different during weekends and holidays since this small mountainous village is a popular tourist destination, especially in the winter.
But we always avoid crowds and a weekday in the last week of January was just perfect! We parked on the central square and sat on a bench to take a look on the map and decide in which way we would start walking.
As it turned out, it didn't really matter. Wherever we went the village was charming, inviting us to keep walking until we explore it all :)

Even the moss and the small plants growing on the roofs of the houses were charming as they were lit by a brilliant sunshine. The stone-built houses, the deciduous trees that had lost their leaves for the winter, the beautiful narrow streets, they were all wonderful excuses for more wandering and more photographs!
It was one of those days of the Greek winter that it is a petty to be spend indoors and we were in one of the best places to enjoy it :)

As it attracts a lot of tourists it is a wealthy place. Many old houses are renovated, new ones are rising, a lot of shops can be found selling traditional products and handicrafts and of course many taverns and coffee shops.
Nevertheless my photographic interest lies on the old, not too maintained houses, the ones that time has been harsh on them, leaving its mark on their texture. If you follow me for a while you should have noticed it by now. It is kind of a split personality of mine. On one hand I am sad to see abandoned and decaying villages and on the other I am repulsed from the renovated ones!

What was most impressive in this village was a few amazing buildings, similar to a few others that can only be found in big towns or cities of Greece, as well as a park with amazingly tall trees enviable even from towns with a hundred times the population of this village!
They are mostly part of the legacy of one man that was passed on to the state but it is enough to make a difference.
And of course the one of our company that appreciated the most the park, has four legs and black, shinning fur :)
