Evening glory

The morning glory, as the name suggests, is at its best in the morning, but I found myself at a piece of land dominated by it, in the evening. I don't know what I would have seen if I have been there a few hours earlier, but the beauty before my eyes was glorious enough anyway!

As a photographer, I couldn't resist to its magic, although as a farmer it gave me a slightly heavy hearted feeling. You see morning glory apart from a flowering plant, is also a very invasive weed. I took those pictures at a place that used to be vegetable gardens, but now are abandoned by its former owners and overruled by weeds.

I used to have some morning glories grow up the hand railing on the front steps. They looked really neat when in full bloom. I think I put an end to them when I was ripping up some other vines. We'll see if they come back next year.

It's interesting that you call them a weed, and I can certainly see as a farmer what you mean. They're like mint in that once they take hold they don't like to give it up.

Yes, although they are very beautiful they can dominate and destroy all other plants. If you look closely at the last picture you'll see a loquat under the veil of morning glory, trying to find some light!

I did not know they are invader plants , they remind me of my summer vacations in the countryside where my grandmother used to have these in the backgarden

Yes, they are great as long there is a gardener around. But if they are left uncontrolled they can dominate and destroy all other plants. If you look closely at the last picture you'll see a loquat under the veil of morning glory, trying desperately to find some light!

I have noticed. I guess that the best solution is to keep it under control from early on

They are such pretty flowers, but super invasive here...

Indeed!

beautiful photos my friend, nice colors, sorry about the weeds.

The bush of morning glory looks wonderful. I don't know if you have a good hand on photography that why or there is other reason but those looks more beautiful than what we have in our part of the world. The color is not so deep here.
Anyway, it feels good to see the peaceful flowers.

There are many different kinds of morning glory, maybe you have another one at your place!
